New Mercedes SLS AMG GT

Mercedes SLS AMG received an early update, in 2010 the production started and after less than two years’ time Mercedes decided to update the SLS AMG. It sounds a bit unexpected and a bit depressing for current owners.
Mercedes SLS AMG is not a cheap car to buy and in a very short time frame, a revised model is introduced. I think Mercedes is not satisfied with the SLS AMG, even they did not like that name now it is called Mercedes SLS AMG GT!
The updated Mercedes SLS AMG GT produces 591 PS of power and 650 Nm of torque. Mercedes SLS AMG GT receives 20 more horsepower than the previous model, and achieves to reach 100 kph (62 mph) in 3.7 seconds with a top speed of 320 kph (200 mph). And you need to pay extra £18,000!!!
Drive train is also revised, the previous known AMG Ride Control Sports Suspension is replaced with AMG Ride Control Performance Suspension, and with this new system there will no more comfort button for suspension settings and your back will be destroyed!
Mercedes suggests to use Sport mode for daily driving with SLS AMG GT. Also adds, rolling and pitching of the new SLS AMG GT is reduced! Once again, the Sport setting will be very comfortable. Basically, Sport will be the new comfort. And in order to compensate the Sport, SLS AMG GT feature Sport plus setting.
As you would expect, the new Mercedes SLS AMG GT offers better interior quality and better of everything. Anyway if you own a Mercedes SLS AMG, after October 2012 it will be slow and old.
Does this revision changed my perception to Mercedes SLS AMG? Of course no. I still go for Mercedes McLaren SLR.
Honestly, this car revision trend in automotive industry will turn into Apple’s obsession to revise their whole product range every year. Whatever you buy, it will be old in one-year time. Think about iPhone, whenever you buy it, less than one-year time it will be old and slow. I hope we won’t have this trend in automotive.
