BMW is now part of the downsized engine family with the new 1.5-lt turbo charged petrol and diesel engine.s In near future, you may not be able to order your BMW with 4 or 6-cylinder engines. Instead, you will have the 1.5-lt turbo petrol engine with 224 PS and 240 Nm of torque. And 1.5-lt turbo diesel will be available with 184 PS and 330 Nm of torque. These figures are for the highest output, there will be lower output options as well. And BMW is planning to offer these new 1.5-lt petrol and diesel engines starting from the 1-Series.
I really appreciated innovation in automotive and happy to see these types of new technology engines. Yes, we won’t have the big six-cylinder engine but everything is changing around us, so don’t expect your BMW’s engine to stay the same. I am really looking forward to see 1.5-lt engine across the BMW vehicle range. This engine will also provide a great price advantage on emerging markets and reduce the tax bracket.
