Here is the Mercedes-Benz E-Class facelift photos, it is not officially announced but thanks to GermanCarForum, they managed to find them. And according to responses from the forum and my personal view, I would like to celebrate the 2013 sales performance BMW 5-Series and Audi A6.
Facelifted Mercedes E-Class is unfortunately ugly. I am not fan of Mercedes but, they do have a very well designed cars like A-Class but Mercedes destroyed one of the best seller model, E-Class.
While making the lines softer, Mercedes designers created a look of melted E-Class :( And rear head light looks exactly same as in Mercedes GL.
However, if the rumours are true about the E-Class with 1.6-lt engine from Renault, Mercedes can compensate this ugly face with charming price, thanks to smaller engine!
-Update-
BMW 4-Series Coupe Concept (F32) photos leaked to the press. BMW 4-Series is going to replace the 3-Series coupe version. The main aim of BMW is to name the coupe models with even numbers and sedan models with odd numbers. I assume it will be easier for BMW people to identify their cars on their warehouse :)

iPhone 5 side scratches and Porsche Design pen. Probably the funniest title for the iPhone 5! But, you cannot imagine the intersection of these two different items on one thing.
As the iPhone 5 was revealed, the rumours and photos started to appear on internet due to vulnerability of sides and back for scratches and scuffs. iPhone 5 is made from anodised aluminium instead of stainless steel, which iPhone 4 and 4S is made from. Anodised aluminium made iPhone 5 lighter and also anodising process made the aluminium more resistant to scratches and scuffs.
Actually, we were told like this but the reality was different. Many people started to complain the scratches and scuffs started to appear on their new iPhone 5 in a very short time. And unfortunately, I am one of them as well. Hopefully, mine is not black iPhone 5 so I am better off with white. Because, the black iPhone 5 shows any minor scratches or scuffs more easily due to its painted colour. However, white iPhone 5 covers the minor things.
Anyway, a few weeks after I had my iPhone 5 I realised a minor scuff under the volume control buttons. And I was a bit disappointed to see this. Because, I had iPhone 4 for quite long time and there was nothing on the sides! As I don’t have any chance to repair this, I ignored it.
One day, I took my stainless steel Porsche Design P3120 (When I bought it, they told me it is made from stainless steel) and tried to remove excess aluminium from the scuff on iPhone 5’s side. While doing this, I realised that stainless steel Porsche Design pen removed the excess aluminium and also the scuff.
I am not joking, the sides of iPhone 5 is very soft. And it can be manipulated very easily with a harder material. So, I noticed the power of Porsche Design pen and kept correcting the scuff. It was so easy, in less than five minutes the scuff was removed also some layers of aluminium as well. I know this sound crazy but the material is so soft and it is very easy to correct any scratches or scuffs by removing layers. For sure, it doesn’t look that nice but better than an ugly scuff.
My final decision, if you are planning to buy an iPhone 5 go for the white one. I know black looks better but go for the white! If you don’t want to use a case or cover or any type of protector, your iPhone 5 more likely to have scratches or scuffs in meantime. And don’t worry, you may fix them by using a stainless steel object like my Porsche Design pen. And if you have some skills, you can engrave some patterns or your name very easily to sides of the iPhone 5.
So this is the solution to how to remove scratches and scuffs from iPhone 5 side :)
Apple knows this problem and declared that; aluminium has a tendency for scratches and scuffs. And my response to Apple, please get in touch with Audi as soon as possible, as they manufacture cars from Aluminium for quite long time and I am sure that you can buy some of their material technology to improve the iPhone’s structure.
Audi S6 is powered by 4-0 TFSi V8 petrol engine with 420 HP and 550 Nm of torque. S6 needs only 4.6 seconds to reach 100 km/h (62 mph) with the limited top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph).
How Audi Succeed? This is one of the biggest questions in automotive industry. According to recent figures, Audi sold more cars than its competitors in US. And, many people can give an answer to you with lots of numbers and lots of PowerPoint slides. However, I would like to explain it from a customer perspective.
Two decades ago, Audi and Mercedes and BMW may not appear in the same sentence. Because, there was no strong presence of Audi in luxury car market. In those years, the luxury car market was dominated by Mercedes, BMW and Jaguar. No one ever thought, Audi would became the key player and create its own customer group.
Personally, I loved and hated the Audi. I hated the Q7, I loved A8. I found A1 pointless, I adored the lines of the A7. This type of extreme feelings towards a brand is a good indication of success, because they are doing their job very well and ignite our feelings.
Let’s go back to Audi’s success. You might be thinking how Audi achieved this success by designing cars that look exactly same and targeted for different segments. One of the biggest risks is designing cars that look exactly the same. You can kill the motivation to buy a more expensive car and people cannot identify the car’s name easily because they look exactly the same. Audi A4 looks exactly the same as A6, A6 looks like A7, A7 looks like A8. This chain reaction goes forever, but many people ignored this photocopy inspired design and purchased an Audi. So, we need to think the motivates behind this consumption!
Audi did one thing very good, improving the quality! When you look at the interior of an Audi from 1990s and from 2012, you can see the huge improvement. Firstly thanks to Bentley, Audi A6, A7, A8 turned into reasonably priced Bentleys. Their plastic quality improved, Audi started to offer new materials, craftsmanship quality improved so much. The physical gaps between the parts are nearly impossible to spot now. There is nearly nothing inside an Audi that can be perceived as cheap or low quality. In the meantime; Audi improved the engines, gearboxes, safety systems, comfort, quality of the drive. Even the Quattro’s ridiculous understeering is vanished by the Active Sport Differential.
Why Audi did all these things? Because, Audi needs to close the gap between the Mercedes and BMW. Audi needs to be better than those brands, so customers will prefer an Audi instead of a Mercedes or a BMW. And also, Audi coupled those improvements with very attractive design. And again, whenever I get inside an Audi A8 or A6, I always feel like I am inside a Bentley with a reasonable price. I used to be feeling, I am inside an Audi that is the posh version of a Volkswagen.
Of course, there are more details why Audi achieved this success but when you consider the purchase stages of a car and how people judge the cars in the dealers are closely related with the points that I mentioned above. Attractive design, high quality, high technology, improved driving experience and improved brand image. Design, Quality and Technology; these are the main motives to improve the sales figures of a car company.
