Ferrari 512BBi HR Owen Ferrari London

The Ferrari 512BBi. I spotted this car a couple of months ago at the HR Owen Ferrari dealership in Chelsea, London. Unfortunately, I am not good at classic cars but I will do my best for this post.

The Ferrari 512BBi features a 4.9-litre flat-12 cylinder engine with a fuel injection system with 335 HP! It features a 5-speed manual gearbox. It takes around 5.4 seconds to reach 100 km/h or more. The top speed is 257 km/h. However, I wouldn’t want to test the top speed. Only 1,007 of them were manufactured.

I guess you will enjoy my photos more than my words.

The Ferrari 812 Superfast is the new F12

Ferrari recently revealed the replacement for the Ferrari F12, the 812 Superfast. The Ferrari 812 Superfast brand does not sound very tempting, and seems as though the branding team was on holiday when the name was picked.

The title 812 comes from the fact that the car has 800 HP and a 12-cylinder engine. You add them together and you have the 812! You see, it is clever. Like the new electric steering wheel in the Ferrari 812.

With the 812, Ferrari has introduced the first electric steering wheel (EPS – Electric Power Steering) to the market. Probably, some people may not be happy with this situation and any steering wheel feedback may vanish due to the electric setup. At the moment, I haven’t noticed any negative feedback from the reviews, but we will see how it goes. However, this is the trend in the automotive industry. Steering wheels are becoming electric!

The Ferrari 812 offers the Side Slip Control (SSC) version 5.0 and the new Virtual Short Wheelbase 2.0 system (PCV). Both of these features are designed to make the Ferrari experience better. However, the key important point with regard to the 812 is the engine. The V12 6.5-lt naturally aspirated engine is the last naturally aspirated engine from Ferrari. Therefore, Ferrari 812 will be a future icon. All other Ferrari models are now being offered with a turbo engine, and the naturally aspirated engine era is about to end.

The other improvements relate to the instrument panel and the infotainment systems. Ferrari claims they are improved and way better. However, this is questionable!

Anyway, here are the technical details of the Ferrari 812 Superfast;

Type V12 – 65°
Overall displacement 6,496 cc
Maximum power output * 588 kW (800 cv) at 8,500 rpm
Maximum torque * 718 Nm at 7,000 rpm
Dry weight 1,525 kg
Weight distribution 47-53% front/rear
Maximum speed >340 Km/h
0-100 km/h 2.9 sec
Fuel consumption 14,9 l/100km
Emissions 340g CO2/km

The New Ferrari GTC4Lusso and The GTC4Lusso T

Ferrari’s very unfortunate model – the FF – was replaced recently. I assume Ferrari realised that FF mean #FridayFollow and that may not match the Ferrari’s brand identity. In order to make the new FF unique, they preferred a new brand name – the GTC4Lusso. Basically, it is a better and a more refined version of the FF. The navigation and the infotainment system is way way better than that of the FF. The engine is better and more efficient (I really wonder who cares). Still, the V12 is a naturally aspired engine.

The GTC4Lusso still offers enough for four people. Why do you need to carry four people inside a Ferrari? Two seats are more than enough – one for you and one for the additional boot space. An all-wheel drive system is still available to tackle the snowy roads of Monte Carlo but it doesn’t snow over there. And it still looks like a hatch-back. A Ferrari owner once told me that the Ferrari FF looks like his son’s BMW 1-Series. He has a point.

The GTC4Lusso T? For the first time, Ferrari offers an affordable version, the V8 Turbo engine, rear-wheel driven Ferrari GTC4Lusso.

Actually, it should have been called the GTC2Lusso to emphasise the lack of an all-wheel drive system and the naturally aspired V12 engine. This is a very smart move on the part of Ferrari to reach their annual 10,000 car production target. And I am sure it will work.

However, I would never buy a GTC4Lusso in the two-wheel drive option. The GTC4Lusso was created as an all-wheel drive car. A rear-wheel drive GTC4Lusso T will always remind me of two things, that the car’s owner has no idea about the Ferrari brand or couldn’t afford to buy a proper A GTC4Lusso.

Ferrari 280 GTO, F40, F50, Enzo and LaFerrari | Classic Car Show Birmingham NEC

Ferrari 280 GTO, F40, F50, Enzo, and LaFerrari are at the Classic Car Show, NEC Birmingham. Spotting five iconic Ferraris at the same time at the same place is lucky. Add this to Wikipedia, please.

After waiting for almost 20 years, I managed to see the Ferrari F50! I am not a classic car fan and rarely attend classic car shows. However, this time when I saw the Ferrari F50 on Instagram, I rushed into the classic car show because this might be my first and last chance to see a Ferrari F50!

Ferrari F50 is not the ultimate hyper car, but it is the rarest one! You can spot an Enzo, a F40 or a LaFerrari more easily than a F50! Spotting all these Ferraris at the same time? The probability is quite close to winning a lottery.

Photos of Ferrari 488 GTB

The Ferrari 488 GTB at HR Owen, Knightsbridge London! The replacement for the 458, and the car we were awaiting. Why? The answer is very simple; the Ferrari 488 GTB is powered by a turbo V8 engine. This is the end of the atmospheric engine era for the Ferrari. The turbo V8 will offer better fuel efficiency, lower emissions, and I am sure it will be faster than the car it replaces.

I am not totally against the turbo engine Ferrari. The F40 was a turbo engine. However, what I am against in Ferrari is sharing exactly the same interior with the previous car. I know Ferrari goes really fast, it is a Ferrari so I shouldn’t need to focus on this. On the other hand, when the price tag of a Ferrari 488 is more expensive than the average house, this leads me to look for these types of details.

For me, the Ferrari 488 has failed. It is very fast, handles fantastically, and is probably one of the most engaging Ferraris to drive, yet the interior has not changed. The 488 is not a face lift either. Ferrari should have introduced a completely new interior. They are playing in the luxury market, and with the previous models, Ferrari has always changed the interior with the new models.

So why has Ferrari kept the same interior of the 458 inside the 488? The answer is the cost! Introducing a new interior means many hours of designing and engineering. It is not an easy process. I could understand and accept this if the Ferrari 488 was priced in the Alfa Romeo range! Unfortunately, Ferrari’s price range is quite high.

You might say that the Bentley Continental GT has the same interior, as Porsche does not make radical changes, and the Aston Martin is the same. Unfortunately, all these competitors do not offer a radical exterior design revision for their new models. Particularly, the Porsche 911 has been more or less the same car for the last 50 years!

However, the Mercedes S-Coupe definitely offers a brand new interior!

So, should we ignore the Ferrari 488? Of course not! However, I could not get excited by the old interior.

Ferrari FF, Ferrari California-T and Ferrari F12berlinetta

Ferrari FF, Ferrari California-T and Ferrari F12berlinetta. They were under the same room, in the same place, at the same time. Sounds like a extremely rare occurrence but it is possible. And thankfully, I manage to spot these three breathtaking Ferraris at HR Owen’s dealership in Knightsbridge, London.

I have written many times about Ferraris. I didn’t think that you’d be bothered about the lack of radar guided cruise control or if you could expect an extremely smooth ride from a Ferrari.

Just look and praise.

Ferrari FF at Knightsbridge London | HR Owen

Ferrari FF from Knightsbridge, London. Actually that’s the expected habitat of the all-wheel drive Ferrari. However, I didn’t spot the Ferrari FF on the street, instead, it was at HR Owen Knightsbridge dealer. Personally, I really like the Ferrari FF, even though it is a bit ugly but the technology lying under the bonnet for the all-wheel drive system turns the ugliness into a charm!

Also, Ferrari FF is quite functional car! A proper boot, all-wheel drive, four seats and it is not a poser’s Ferrari!

Ferrari FF is powered by a 6,2-lt V12 engine with 660 HP and 683 nm. The top speed of FF is 335 km/h and only needs 3.7 seconds to reach 100 km/h! And the engine is coupled with a 7-speed dual clutch automatic gearbox with pedals behind the steering-wheel!

Ferrari FF offers a very distinctive and a unique driving experience, which you cannot find very easily on a sports car!

Ferrari F40 at Autosport International 2015

Ferrari F40 at Autosport International 2015! I was waiting to see the Ferrari F40 for nearly 25 years. F40 was my childhood supercar and all time favourite. The 320 km/h top speed of F40 was something out of this planet in early 1990s! And also F40’s outstanding design was beyond its time as well. I had many Ferrari F40 toys but never had the chance to spot one in real life.

Unfortunately, I missed the Ferrari F40 in UK few times but this time I was on right place at the right time, Autosport International 2015!

Technical details? F40 was powered by a 3-lt turbo engine with 478 HP and coupled with 5-speed manual gearbox. It had nothing, no ABS, no airbag or electric windows! F40 weighted 1.1-tonne only and managed to reach 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds in 1987!

Ferrari LaFerrari at Autosport International 2015

Today Autosport International 2015 started and this year it started with an epic super car, Ferrari LaFerrari. There are only 400 of LaFerraris and it is extremely rare to spot one the roads. Literally, Autosport International 2015 can be the first and last place to see a Ferrari LaFerrari!

Why I am saying this? Because, super cars of Ferrari are always rare to spot and if you missed it, it gone! So don’t be late!
