Jaguar F-Type 2-lt Against Porsche 718

Jaguar’s latest move match the Porsche! The Jaguar F-Type 2-lt! Jaguar is trying hard to capture the Porsche market with the F-Type. To be fair, it is not an easy job. It resembles Samsung’s attempt to capture iPhone customers. You might be saying, good luck to Jaguar! I say the same thing, but I can see that Porsche lovers are still in love with the Porsche and not with the Jaguar F-Type.

However, the 2-lt petrol engine in the F-Type sounds quite tempting. It comes at a relatively affordable price of £50,000, and literally there is nothing really exciting that you need to add from the option list. Porsche’s option list is really tempting, because everything in a Porsche is literally optional.

With the latest decision on the part of Jaguar, the F-Type is in competition with the Porsche 718 and the 911 at the same time, with one product, the F-Type. It’s a very efficient way to compete! What about the safety? Jaguar F-Type offers contemporary safety systems with the F-Type. Autonomous Emergency Braking system, Lane Departure Warning (standard) and Lane Keep Assist (optional) systems. I am really impressed with the Jaguar’s commitment to offer these assistance systems.

Engine capacity (cc) 1,997, four in-line, dual independent variable cam timing, electrohydraulic fully variable intake valve lift system. Fuel injection 200bar direct injection. Boosting system single twin-scroll turbocharger with ceramic ball bearings. Power PS (kW) 300 (221) @ 5,500rpm. Torque Nm (lb ft) 400 (295) @ 1,500-4,500rpm. Transmission 8-speed Quickshift. 0-100km/h (sec) 5.7. Top speed mph (km/h)
155 (249). Fuel consumption mpg (litres/100km) 39.2 (7.2).
