Russian Car Journalist Anastasia Tregubova Tests Jaguar F-Type

Jaguar F-Type driven by Anastasia Tregubova, the Russian car journalist. Probably the sexiest car journalist on this planet :)

Anyway, as you expected the test drive is in Russian but thanks to YouTube translate function, I partially understand what she was telling. And I don’t agree on some! The main argument for the Jaguar F-Type is the interior built quality and state-of-art complicated navigation screen. The interior looks exclusive and ergonomically designed, however the material quality for the interior is not matching with the interior of the competitors, such as Porsche 911! I was expecting to see higher quality material to appreciate the Porsche 911 level price tag.

The navigation screen is still a disaster in Jaguar Land Rover group. It is not user friendly, very complicated to use. I think Anastasia and rest of the world agree with me. Jaguar Land Rover has to find a solution for the navigation screen.

The rest is I agree with Anastasia. Jaguar F-Type is a unique car with a very engaging driving character. I am sure that, if I drove a F-Type I would love the ride. However, the high price tag reduces the gap between the Porsche 911. And when the Porsche 911 is close range, my brain will be questioning why I bought a Jaguar F-Type.

And many people will be asking the same question. The answer for the question is Jaguar F-Type is exclusive and Porsche 911 is a mass-market! That’s the difference. You can see a Porsche 911 literally everywhere but F-Type is really rare. However, Porsche 911 is way better built than a Jaguar F-Type. That’s the problem. But for some people, that’s a not problem :)

Royal Mail British Auto Legends Stamps Delivery with a Jaguar E-Type

Royal Mail Auto Legends stamps. If you haven’t heard about this, it is the limited edition of stamps from Royal Mail to congratulate the iconic cars of British automotive industry. Personally, I am not a stamp collector but when I saw these stamps on internet, I was really excited to see them live.

Hopefully, Royal Mail was very kind to send me. However, the sending process was totally different from what I thought. Honestly, I was expecting to receive the stamps via Royal Mail special delivery inside an envelope. And Royal Mail thought that, it is a bit boring way to delivery the stamps and they decided to use a red Jaguar E-Type for the delivery. I am not joking, Royal Mail arrived to my home with a red Jaguar E-Type to deliver these stamps. However, the story did not finish here!

The stamps were not inside an envelope, they were inside a bespoke made engraved red toolbox. Literally, this was the best PR campaign I have ever seen. The whole process was fantastic and left a great memory to remember in future.

Anyway, let’s go back to British Auto Legends stamps. The stamps feature; Jaguar E-Type — 1961, MG MGB — 1962, Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow — 1965, Morgan Plus 8 — 1968, Aston Martin DB5 — 1963, and Lotus Esprit — 1976.

And the prices for British Auto Legends stamps start from as low as £5.64! And it will be a great collectors’ item in future. For the record, never send me an email to buy these stamps in year 2053. I am pretty sure that, I will at least a half-century and instead asking to buy the stamps from me. Go and buy them now :)

Jaguar F-Type #YourTurnBritain vs. Jeep Grand Cherokee Manifesto | No Comment

Jaguar recently introduced the F-Type advertisement campaign called #YourTurnBritain. I am not going to make any comments about this, instead I placed the Jeep’s 2010 advertisement from USA. 
This article is not about cars or brands, it is about two different campaign in two different nations with totally different sociological backgrounds. And try to remember the year 2010 while Jeep was struggling to recover from a huge downfall. Jeep had to recover the sales figures. Thus, you will understand the Jeep Grand Cherokee advertisement’s context. 
However, Jaguar created a campaign with a similar context with Jeep! 
Both Jaguar and Jeep are iconic automotive brands, in order to survive in this environment the solution is innovative engineering. Attention to details always wins!

Review of Jaguar F-Type S

Jaguar F-Type, the latest Jaguar! Jaguar revealed the F-Type as a contemporary interpretation of the iconic E-Type. E-Type features one of the most iconic designs in automotive industry. No one can deny the beauty of the E-Type and that’s why I wanted to see the F-Type in real world.

F-Type is a quite important for Jaguar to keep the momentum of the performance. That’s why Jaguar is paying attention to F-Type. As a result of the über attention to Jaguar F-Type, I visited a Jaguar dealer to see it.

Jaguar F-Type does look very beautiful, it resembles with the iconic E-Type. And that’s why many people are interested on the F-Type and there is a long list of waiting. However, when I get inside the F-Type, the things did not go that well! Unfortunately, Jaguar F-Type does not represent any engineering improvement inside the cabin. There are too many plastic parts, the navigation and user interface are still out-dated, the gaps between the panels are too much for its segment. Unfortunately, these are the real facts and my benchmark for in automotive industry is the Audi and Porsche. Their engineering ability inside the cabin is outstanding and when you sit inside an Audi S8 or Porsche 911, and move to Jaguar F-Type, unfortunately you may experience the same feelings!

Jaguar designs beautiful cars, however I cannot see the same level of attention details inside the cabin. In order to sustain in premium car segment, they have to improve their cabin interior quality to give a premium feeling. People who can afford to buy a Jaguar F-Type can easy buy a Porsche 911 and they can spot the different inside the cabin.

Despite these adverse situation, Jaguar F-Type S is powered by a 3-lt V6 Supercharged engine with 380 HP and 460 Nm of torque. Engine is coupled with 8-speed automatic gearbox and only needs 4.9 seconds to reach 100 km/h. Also F-Type S makes amazing exhaust noise! For many people these things are more important than the interior :)

And I am sure that Jaguar F-Type is a very driver focused and engaging car to drive.

Playboy Playmate Raquel Pomplun Received a Jaguar F-Type

Playboy playmate Raquel Pomplun received a brand new Jaguar F-Type. Raquel Pomplun first featured on the April 2012 issue of Playboy (Sex & Music). And recently Hugh Hefner announced Raquel Pomplun as the 2013 Playmate of the Year at Playboy Mansion. 
Consequently, Raquel received lots of attention and in addition to this attention Raquel received a Jaguar F-Type for one year. If you think, this is not enough she also received $100000 cash. Raquel will enjoy the Jaguar F-Type for one year and probably wear out at least one set of rear tyres at the end of lease.
Jaguar F-Type is available with three engine types. 3-lt supercharged V6 with (F-Type) 300 HP / (F-Type S) 380 HP and acceleration of 5.3 seconds (top speed 260 km/h) / 4.9 seconds to 100 km/h (top speed of 275 km/h). The most powerful F-Type is powered by a (F-Type V8 S) 5-lt supercharged V8 with 495 HP and only needs 4.3 seconds to reach 100 km/h with the top speed of 300 km/h.

New Photos of Maserati Quattroporte

New Maserati Quattroporte, now it is stronger to compete with the Mercedes S-Class, BMW 7-Series, Audi A8 and Jaguar XJ. However, Quattroporte is a bit niche car when you compare with these vehicles. You cannot spot a Quattroporte very often, does not offer wide range of engines and still delivers the racing heritage.

Also, people who buy Quattroporte are different than the people who buy its competitors. Quattroporte is the Italian passion on wheels and it always does look cool.

Now, there are new photos of Maserati Quattroporte!

By the way, Quattroporte is powered by a 3-lt V6 engine with 410 HP and 550 Nm of torque. The engine is coupled with 8-speed automatic gearbox. Maserati only needs 5,1 seconds for rear-wheel to reach 100 km/h and 4,9 seconds for all-wheel drive to reach 100 km/h. Top speed is not limited; rear-wheel drive can achieve 285 km/h and all-wheel drive 283 km/h

Cars in James Bond Skyfall

James Bond Skyfall, I have just watched the movie and I wanted to write about the cars in the movie. Because, there are more cars placed in Skyfall that you imagine.
The list starts with Land Rover Defender and Audi A4. Then JaguarXJ as you expected, then we Range Rover as usual. China sequences starts with Mercedes S500 (S550 for US market) and the taxi was a Volkswagen Passat. And we saw Land Discovery 4 as police vehicles and as a normal vehicle. I totally forgot the wrecked Volkswagen Beetles in the Turkey.
The London Police was driving Kia Optima, Sportage and Opel/VauxhallAstra. I really don’t know whether the London Police drives Kia or not! And the fire trucks were Dennis, a British classic. Later on, Bond left the Jaguar XJ and moved away with the Aston Martin DB5.
If there are more cars, I will update the post later. It was quite hard to keep up with in the Skyfall :)

New Jaguar F-Type

Jaguar F-Type is revealed before the Paris Motor Show. F-Type is considered as the successor or contemporary interpretation of iconic E-Type. When F-Type will be available, I think it will be the most beautiful Jaguar on market.
I really like the design details of F-Type, both in interior and exterior. However, the door handle looks exactly same as Aston Martin. Also, the front headlights reminds me the Mercedes SLS AMG and from the side, F-Type remind me the BMW Z8. May be these are my thought only.
Jaguar F-Type will be smaller than a XK, keep in mind F-Type is not a large car! F-Type will be powered by 3-lt petrol engine with 340 PS with 450 Nm of torque and 380 PS with 460 Nm of torque. The top engine will be 5-lt but there is no information about this.

Jaguar XF, XJ with All-Wheel Drive

Jaguar XF and XJ are now available with all-wheel drive option, revealed at Pebble Beach. Jaguar was the only company does not offer all-wheel drive option in premium segment despite the engagement with Land Rover. Now it is available with XF and XJ but only with 3-lt V6 petrol engine (340 PS) and this leads no proper market share in emerging markets, where the customers have more tendencies on diesels.
Honestly, within in existing petrol prices level and increasing demand to diesel vehicles, Jaguar should have offered the all-wheel drive option with diesel engines. Thus, Jaguar could have more competitive power.
Jaguar’s all-wheel drive can split the torque 50/50 among front and rear, 8-speed automatic gearbox with auto start/stop is available.
Hope to see all-wheel drive rest of the engine range.

Jaguar XJ and Sunny Day

Jaguar XJ and sunny day. It is quite impossible to see this combination in UK, but I managed to do it :) Probably the best pictures of XJ in my portfolio!
This Jaguar XJ is short wheel base and the rear leg room is not that big! Never go for short wheel base for big sedans! XJ is powered by a 3-lt turbo diesel with 275 PS and 600 Nm of torque, 6 seconds to 100 kph (62 mph).
