Last Video of Paul Walker Before the Accident

Yesterday, Fast & Furious star Paul Walker (40) lost his life in a tragic car accident. According to news, Paul Walker was inside a Porsche Carrera GT and the control of the vehicle is lost and crashed. The footage shows the car was on fire as a result of the crash. Unfortunately, Paul Walker and the other passenger cannot be rescued from the burning vehicle.
He was returning from a charity event to raise money for Reach Out Worldwide.
Porsche Carrera GT was manufactured between 2004 – 2007. It is powered by a V10 5.7-lt engine with 612 HP and the top speed of 305 km/h. Carrera GT only weighs 1.3-tonne!

Photos of Porsche Macan

Porsche Macan is finally revealed to public. It is the mid-size SUV based on Audi Q5! But it is branded as Porsche, so we will love it! Personally, I don’t like the Audi Q5 but I loved the Macan. Why? Because, that’s a Porsche. It is that simple! And what Macan means? Macan means tiger in Indonesian.
Anyway, Porsche Macan is powered by two petrol and one diesel engine. Petrol engines are Macan S 3-lt biturbo 340 HP, 5.2 sec to 100 km/h, 254 km/h top speed and Macam Turbo 3.6-lt biturbo 400 HP, 4.6 sec to 100 km/h 266 km/h top speed. The diesel is powered by a 3-lt turbo with 258 HP, 6.1 sec to 100km/h and 230 km/h top speed. All engines are coupled with 7-speed double clutch automatic gearbox for seamless acceleration.
Also, Macan offers off-road experience by touch of a button. The off-road button increases the tension on the clutch, remaps the ABS and traction control. If the Macan is featured with air suspension, it will be raised 40mm. I assume Macan will cope with basic off-road conditions and won’t let you down. There is no low-range gearbox or locking differentials but you really don’t need them unless you go for serious off-road. Also, Macan may use the first gear as a low range like Cayenne does.
And also, you will have torque vectoring for faster cornering, radar guided cruise control, sport chrono pack for faster acceleration and Porsche experience.

Emotional Review of Porsche 911 Turbo S

Porsche 911 Turbo S. The most powerful Porsche 911 and don’t ask me why you should buy 911 Turbo S instead of 911 Turbo. No one knows the reason but everyone will go forever the Turbo S.

Turbo S is powered by a 3.8-lt turbo petrol engine with 560 HP and 750 Nm of torque (with Sport Plus). Only needs 3.1 seconds to reach 100 km/h and the top speed is not limited to 250 km/h, you can accelerate up to 318 km/h. But you won’t find a straight road long enough to stretch to top speed.

As usually, 911 Turbo S is built with precision like a Swiss watch and looks a bit boring. However, when you get used to the detailed craftsmanship of Porsche 911, you won’t wish to drive another car. And the new electric steering wheel? Don’t stuck on this, life is too short to argue for an electric steering wheel. I am definitely sure Porsche developed an electric steering wheel that is the best on its class.

Porsche 911 Turbo S is a great car to be cruising, great for track days and don’t rev up the engine inside the city, people live inside the building and try to rest :)

The Best Looking Car at Night from the Rear-End

Cars at night, here is the photo of the supercars with their tail lights at night. BMW Z4 is not a supercar but I have no idea how it ends up on this list. And also, I really wonder why there is no McLaren and Jaguar. I am definitely sure that, both of these brands look fantastic at night.

Porsche Design Fall / Winter 2013 Women Collection

I have just seen the Porsche Design women fall / winter 2013 collection. I am not a fashion critic but I always find Porsche Design as a very muscular brand for a women collection. The colours, the lines and the image do not match properly with the idea of women collection. However, they didn’t give up. For last one year, Porsche Design’s efforts to enter women fashion business is as ambitious as Porsche Cayenne’s first attempt to find a place on market.
And Porsche Design is finding the grip for the women fashion business. It is really hard for them to compete with the iconic brands but Porsche Design is a contemporary fashion brand and it will be unfair to compare it with brands like Valentino. And also, whatever Porsche Design does, they cannot get rid of the mechanical feeling. Porsche Design is related with Porsche and Porsche manufactures cars and their cars are not emotional like Ferraris.
Therefore, Porsche Design should focus on more emotional figures for their brand. In order to find a place and increase traction to go further, Porsche Design have to have emotional figures. Otherwise, the expected success never be able to achieved.
And start with the colours! Please, get rid of the black, grey, dark grey, light grey, or anything that has black inside. You are not selling a car, I know there should be somehow Porsche DNA but create that DNA through production quality not the colours inspired by Porsche cars.

Russian Car Journalist Anastasia Tregubova Tests Jaguar F-Type

Jaguar F-Type driven by Anastasia Tregubova, the Russian car journalist. Probably the sexiest car journalist on this planet :)

Anyway, as you expected the test drive is in Russian but thanks to YouTube translate function, I partially understand what she was telling. And I don’t agree on some! The main argument for the Jaguar F-Type is the interior built quality and state-of-art complicated navigation screen. The interior looks exclusive and ergonomically designed, however the material quality for the interior is not matching with the interior of the competitors, such as Porsche 911! I was expecting to see higher quality material to appreciate the Porsche 911 level price tag.

The navigation screen is still a disaster in Jaguar Land Rover group. It is not user friendly, very complicated to use. I think Anastasia and rest of the world agree with me. Jaguar Land Rover has to find a solution for the navigation screen.

The rest is I agree with Anastasia. Jaguar F-Type is a unique car with a very engaging driving character. I am sure that, if I drove a F-Type I would love the ride. However, the high price tag reduces the gap between the Porsche 911. And when the Porsche 911 is close range, my brain will be questioning why I bought a Jaguar F-Type.

And many people will be asking the same question. The answer for the question is Jaguar F-Type is exclusive and Porsche 911 is a mass-market! That’s the difference. You can see a Porsche 911 literally everywhere but F-Type is really rare. However, Porsche 911 is way better built than a Jaguar F-Type. That’s the problem. But for some people, that’s a not problem :)

Porsche 911’s 50th Year at Goodwood Festival of Speed 2013

Porsche 911’s 50th year at Goodwood Festival of Speed. 2013 is the 50th anniversary of the iconic Porsche 911. And it was celebrated at Goodwood Festival of Speed this year. Unfortunately, I wasn’t there to see this unique celebration but I have photos to share with you. I hope I will see the 60th anniversary :)

It was a great event and I missed the Porsche 935/78 Moby Dick.

Evolution of BMW X5 | From First Generation to Third Generation

Evolution of BMW X5; first generation (E53), second generation (E70) and third generation (F15). Since the first BMW X5 was revealed to market in 1999 and resulted with a success that Land Rover and Porsche introduced vehicles to compete with the X5, Range Rover Sport and Cayenne.
It is quite rare to see all three generation of BMW X5 at the same time but BMW released footage with all X5 generations.
My personal opinion! I know X5 is not a pure off road vehicle but the level of comfort, technology and sportive driving dynamic compensates the lack of locking differentials and low range gearbox. I still go for a Land Rover Defender for serious off road experience.

New Porsche 911 Turbo and Turbo S are Revealed!

New Porsche 911 Turbo and Turbo S. Unlike old times, Porsche decided to reveal the Turbo S model at the same time with the Turbo. Usually, Porsche reveals the 911 Turbo S by the end of the product life cycle to give some boost to sales figures. However, this time Porsche decided to revealed them together and sees how it goes.
First of all, new Porsche 911 Turbo is super sexy! Probably the looking Turbo ever. And also introduces new technologies. New 911 Turbo and Turbo S are powered by a 3.8-lt petrol engine; Turbo receives 520 HP and Turbo S receives 560 HP. And both models are offered with a 7-speed PDK double clutch automatic gearbox. As usual, both Turbo models are all-wheel drive. Porsche offers an electro hydraulic system all-wheel drive system to improve response and traction.
Now 911 Turbos are available with full LED headlights, unlike other cars you won’t have the old technology xenon or halogen lights! This is really good decision and presents the Porsche’s commitment to high technology.
Another good feature is the rear wheel steering. Porsche 911 Turbo and Turbo S offer rear wheel steering to improve handling, cornering and better manoeuvre in slow speed. Up to 50 km/h, the rear wheel steers to opposite direction and speeds above 80 km/h, the rear wheel steers to parallel direction. But I have no idea what rear wheel does between 50 km/h and 80 km/h.
Now 911 Turbo and Turbo S offer active aero dynamic similar to an airplane. This is why you should buy a Turbo! It is called Porsche Active Aerodynamic (PAA), the front spoiler retractable to three different stages based on the speed of the car and the deployable rear spoiler can adjust itself into three different stages as well. Watch the footage and you will see how cool it is!
Porsche 911 Turbo Sport Chrono Package only needs 3.2 seconds to reach 100 km/h and Turbo S only needs 3.1 seconds to reach 100 km/h with the top speed of 318 km/h.
Go buy a Turbo S, the price is gap around €30,000. But if you can afford to buy a Turbo, you can easily afford to Turbo S!
