Retro Volkswagen Golf Photo | Fourth Generation

Volkswagen Golf, the all time best seller car on planet and also all time retro. Promises high quality, reliability and boring design. Actually, the latest Volkswagen Golf does not look that boring and promises a dynamic character. However, Golf was not a very exciting car end of 1990s, exactly 1998! It has been 15 years ago! Honestly, I clearly remember the whole 1998. And seems like yesterday to me.

And I can clearly remember the fourth generation Volkswagen Golf, despite its boring design and look quality interior finish. It was a sensation in automotive industry. First time, we saw a transparent headlight covers instead of glass ones. Standard airbags and so on.

I am not going to discuss about the fourth generation Volkswagen Golf. I want to share the press photo of the Golf from 1998. License plate does not have DE bar at the left side. A fake couple pretending to show their love towards the Golf. I am trying to understand the composition of the photo and why a couple dress up and hold hands to show their love towards a car. During those years, it was very common to see meaningless photos like this. No one on this planet will ever dresses up and holds hands in front of a car. If they do it, they will be on Twitter!

I don’t comment about the dress and the suit. 1990s was that catastrophic, believe me :)

End of the 1990s were really hilarious and I still cannot believe we were looking at those pictures and thought that in real life people behave like this.

New Volkswagen Golf

New Volkswagen Golf. I know you might be thinking, this Golf new why there is a new Golf. Volkswagen decided to replace the existing model in five-year time, instead of seven-year and this is mainly due to fundamental changes in the manufacturing strategy of Volkswagen. With the new modular MQBplatform, new Golf saved 100 kg. And also manufacturing costs are lower.
Anyway, let’s go back to new Golf. New Golf looks much better than the existing one, offers more aggressive look. And get rid of the conservative family hatchback. That was the only thing, I never liked with the Golf, conservative family hatchback. However, Seat and Audi offer more aggressive looking cars and I wanted to see an aggressive looking Golf. Hopefully, Volkswagen achieved this with the new Golf. In terms of interior design, new Golf is improved and the gap between the Audi is now razor thin.
The new Golf also offers more technology. Now Golf features multi-collision brake (Brakes the car after the accident occurs and prevents vehicle to move unintentionally), PreCrash system (Detects a potential crash and pre-tensions the seatbelts, closes windows and sunroof), radar guided Adaptive Cruise Control, city emergency brake (Brakes the vehicles, if the collision is impossible to avoid), XDS electronic differential lock, traffic sign recognition, 360-degree camera view for parking, lane assistant, fatigue detection system and five different driving profiles (Eco, Sport, Normal, Individual and Comfort) only available with adaptive chassis control system.
Basically, new Volkswagen Golf offers every new German technology with reasonable price tag. You have chance to buy a super high-tech Golf with a reasonable price and you don’t have to bear very high costs of upper segment.
Engines are 1.2-lt TSi petrol (85 PS), 1.4-lt TSi (140 PS) and diesel engines are 105 PS and 150 PS. All engines offers six and seven-speed DSG double clutch automatic gearbox.
The new Volkswagen is going to set a new benchmark for family hatchback segment and definitely capture many potential Audi A3 customers.

New Seat Leon

New Seat Leon is finally revealed for 2013. Unlike previous model, new Seat Leon offers a distinctive design and sportive character is emphasised more! Also new Leon is 6 cm longer now and this definitely increase the legroom at the rear seats.
The interior of new Leon is way better than the previous model and offers premium quality like you can find in Volkswagen Golf. Unlike Golf, new Leon is not conservative and definitely heading for younger customers. This makes Leon more attractive than Golf and new model is a proper substitute as well!
New Seat Leon offers can detect if you fall asleep while driving, lane assist, full beam assist and other safety feature that is available in Volkswagen vehicles. Also new Seat Leon offers 7-speed double clutch DSG automatic gearbox (Go for it). Lastly, new Leon weighs 90 less than the previous model :)
New Seat Leon offers, 1.6-lt turbo diesel 90 PS and 105 PS with 250 Nm of torque. 2-lt turbo diesel with 150 PS, 320 Nm torque or 184 PS, 380 Nm of torque. Also super small 1.2-lt TSi engine is available with 86 PS and 105 PS, 1.4-lt TSi with 122 PS and 1.8-lt TSi with 180 PS.

New Kia cee’d vs World!

New Kia cee’d, many of you will say this “come on, Kia !?!” Yes, I am writing about new Kia cee’d. Because, in last five years Kia had changed itself totally from the scratch! I am very serious about this, starting from their design philosophy to their head office interior design. Everything in Kia has changed! Therefore, Kia cee’d is worth to write :)
Honestly, I never thought that, one day I write these following sentences. New Kia cee’d has the best front-exterior design on its segment, it is so well designed I can compare with Alfa Romeo Giulietta without any regret. Actually, Kia has a way better-looking interior design than the rest of its competitors. Such as; Ford Focus, Volkswagen Golf, Alfa Romeo Giulietta.
Kia cee’d improvements are not limited the design, Kia cee’d also offers new engines and transmissions. New 1.4-lt (98 PS) and 1.6-lt (133) petrol engines, 1.4-lt (89 PS) and 1.6-lt (126 PS) diesel engines. In addition, there is a new double clutch automatic gearbox option. Also, there is an option of 10-way power adjustable driver’s seat in Kia cee’d. The option list goes forever, actually Kia cee’d seems to turn into a German car with this list! Don’t worry new Kia cee’d has an independent rear suspension that will improve the handling and the comfort!
I can clearly say new Kia Cee’d will be a strong competitor in a short time of period!

Volkswagen Eos vs. Volkswagen Golf Cabrio

You didn’t read wrong, VW revealed a new Golf Cabrio. After this car, VW’s cabrio strategy became more complicated than Paris Hilton’s love life! Currently in VW range, there is a car called Eos and this is a cabrio, actually it is a coupe cabrio with a metal roof. However, it is open top car! And VW decided to stop Golf Cabrio, when they revealed the VW Eos and it was a very good decision. Because, Eos and Golf Cabrio would definitely collapsed with each other.
Interestingly, VW changed mind and revealed the new Golf Cabrio. It is not a coupe cabrio with a metal roof, it has a soft top but still open top car. I really wonder how consumers will react to this; they both offer four seat and they look very similar to each other. And I find really hard to find a different among these two cars! My opinion is still Eos is a better option, thanks to its metal roof. Unless you buy a Rolls Royce or Bentley, I don’t like soft top cars.
Probably, either Eos or Golf Cabrio will be erased from production, and it will be decided by the consumers!
I didn’t wish to discuss the technical features, because they are identical with each other! VW, unexpectedly revealed a car that is going to be a competitor of their own car.

New Bond Car

James Bond loves to drive Aston Martin for quite long time. Yes, for some reasons he changed his mind but Aston Martin is always associated with 007; nobody can deny this. If you are still expecting to see an Aston Martin in next Bond movie, I have a bad news. If the next Bond movie will be based on Carte Blanche novel, which is released couple of months ago, you will not see an Aston Martin any more.

Instead, you will see Bentley Continental GT and many VW models; such as – Jetta, Passat, Golf GTi. How I do know this information! Very simple, I read the first one hundred pages of Carte Blanche novel and while reading this, I noticed this major change immediately. Bond drives his Bentley all the time and in everywhere and of course, there are many VW Group cars going around!
