It was my seventh year at Autosport International in Birmingham. The Porsche stand was honoured by these four vehicles: the Cayman, Cayman GT4 Clubsport, 911 GT3 Cup (Type 991) and 911 GT3 R models. As the Porsche team told me, this is the right sequence for the Porsche’s racing levels. You start with a daily Porsche then move to a Cayman GT4 Clubsport with the driving assistance system to begin racing. Then, you shift to a 911 GT3 Cup for a more comprehensive racing experience and, finally, you end up with the 911 GT3 R for the real racing experience.
You can’t think about the Autosport International without the Formula 1 cars. Like previous years, Autosport exhibited last year’s F1 cars and the good old ones (aka retro)! However, this time, there was something really special: the Formula E car from the Jaguar Racing team.
