The New BMW 6-Series Gran Turismo

To be honest, I read the press release last night at midnight. That’s when BMW sends out their press releases (in the middle of the night.) I thought it was a typo, because there is already an ugly BMW 5-Series GT, and now we have a 6-Series Gran Turismo? And they both share the 7-Series platform. In addition, the 6-Series will be replaced by the new 8-Series. Literally, the new 6-Series GT will be the only 6-Series available in the BMW family.

Sounds really confusing and I am sure BMW is confused as well. Probably they will re-brand the 6-Series GT as a 5-Series GT when they facelift this car.

The exterior of the 6-Series GT resembles both the new 5-Series and the 7-Series. The interior is taken from the new 5-Series, and the driving assistance systems are exactly the same as used in the 5-Series. Regarding driving comfort, the air suspension will offer a better ride than the 5-Series’ coil spring suspension. However, the air suspension drive train is inherited from the 7-Series platform.

The BMW 6-Series GT is a really confusing model. It is replacing the 5-Series GT. It is branded as the 6-Series to make it more dynamic, while the 7-Series platform is used for a more spacious interior. Basically, when you buy the 6-Series GT, you buy three different BMW models mixed together. So, the driving experience might be really interesting. By the way, the front seats offer eight different types of massage function.

BMW 6-Series GT’s competitors? Audi A7,  Mercedes-Benz CLS, Porsche Panamera and Maserati Quattroporte. A7 and CLS have no chance but Panamera? Good luck to BMW :) End of the day, a BMW is a BMW not a Porsche! Maserati? People love Maserati, they love Maserati. However, BMW will definitely capture many Audi and Mercedes-Benz customers. Also, people who are not really involved with the Porsche and Maserati brands will be captured by the BMW. However, a BMW can’t be as sportive as a Porsche!

New BMW 6-Series | Facelift

New BMW 6-Series, actually it is just a facelift that you cannot understand the difference from the non facelift model. BMW revealed the 6-Series with super minor facelift last week and introduced a new chapter in automotive industry. A facelift that cannot detected by anyone else.
This will benefit the second hand value of the non facelift 6-Series models! However, the main improvement is the improved standard equipment and new driving assistance technologies. Actually the best bit of the facelifted 6-Series is the Driving Assistant Plus system that enables to the 6-Series to drive by itself during a traffic jam!
6-Series still does look beautiful and charming!

New BMW M6 Gran Coupe (All Photos)

BMW M6 Gran Coupe is here! The best looking four-door coupe has the most powerful engine! Main features of the M6 Gran Coupe is the same as the normal models, however there are some nice things with M6!
BMW M6 Gran Coupe is powered by a 4.4-lt V8 petrol engine with M TwinPower Turbo technology and produces 560 HP with 680 Nm of torque. Thanks to this very powerful engine, M6 Gran Coupe needs only 4.6 seconds to reach 100 km/h (62 mph). However, BMW is always pessimist with their acceleration results, therefore it might be faster than 4.6 seconds. And the top speed is limited to 250 km/h or with optional M Driver’s Package 300 km/h. Engine is coupled with seven-speed M Double Clutch automatic transmission with pedal shifts.
Standard driving stability systems are: DSC incl. ABS, ASC and MDM (M Dynamic Mode), CBC (Cornering Brake Control), DBC (Dynamic Brake Control), Dry Braking function, Start-Off Assistant, M Dynamic Damper Control, Active M Differential, linked to ICM (Integrated Chassis Management).
Standard safety systems are: Airbags for driver and front passenger, side airbags for driver and front passenger, head airbags for front and rear seats, three-point inertia-reel seatbelts on all seats with integrated belt latch tensioner and belt force limiter at the front, crash-activated head restraints at the front, crash sensors, Tyre Defect Indicator.
Optional safety systems are: High Beam Assistant, Park Distance Control, rear-view camera, Surround View incl. Top View and Side View, BMW Night Vision with pedestrian recognition, Head-Up Display, Lane Change Warning, Lane Departure Warning incl Collision Warning, Speed Limit Info with No Passing Info, Advanced eCall.
Optional comfort features are: BMW Assist incl. Enquiry Service, remote-control functions, Real Time Traffic Information, BMW TeleServices, integration of mobile devices.
Optional entertainment features are: Internet access, BMW Online incl. Park Info, National Info, Google Local Search, News, Realtime Weather, BMW Routes, Office functions, Bluetooth Audio Streaming, Online Update Music Tracks, Apps.
In my opinion, BMW 6-Series Gran Coupe is the best-looking four-door coupe on market. And with the M6 model, it is way better now. I know 6-Series Gran Coupe is way more expensive than Mercedes CLS and Audi A7, but it does worth it! And the interior quality of 6-Series is beyond the benchmark of BMW!

New BMW 4-Series Coupe Concept (F32): The New 3-Coupe (All Official Photos) 1

-Update-

BMW just released the official photos of the BMW 4-Series and I immediately updated the posts. As you can see from the photos, the details in interior of BMW 4-Series is amazing. I have never seen something like this before, especially on this segment.
Usually, cars in this segment are not well-known for luxury in details but 4-Series changed the rule of the book. This improved luxury touches may increase the price, despite this adverse effect BMW introduced a new benchmark for interior quality. I am really looking forward to see the response of Mercedes and BMW!
-Update-

BMW 4-Series Coupe Concept (F32) photos leaked to the press. BMW 4-Series is going to replace the 3-Series coupe version. The main aim of BMW is to name the coupe models with even numbers and sedan models with odd numbers. I assume it will be easier for BMW people to identify their cars on their warehouse :)

BMW 4-Series has the similar exterior lines with the BMW 6-Series. From one point of view, I can say that 4-Series is the small version of the 6-Series. You can easily notice the similar lines inside the BMW 4-Series as well. With the 4-Series, BMW raises the production quality of the interior materials and create a new benchmark in the segment.
What about Audi A5 and Mercedes E-Coupe. I am really sad to say that, after BMW 4-Series, Audi and Mercedes cannot keep up their sales figure. The design of BMW 4-Series is the definitely the best when you compare with Audi A5 and Mercedes E-Coupe. You can notice this from the conversations on social media. In addition, Audi A5 and Mercedes E-Coupe is relatively older than the 4-Series, this is another fact that BMW 4-Series will have a stronger sales figure.
As I am a great fan of BMW 6-Series, this new 4-Series changed my mind! The strong lines and high quality finishes of the 4-Series can replace the 6-Series for me!
Most probably, BMW 4-Series will carry the same engine options that are present with the existing BMW 3-Series sedan and there will be all-wheel drive xDrive version as well.

BMW 6 Gran Coupe

BMW 6 Gran Coupe is the BMW’s rival to Mercedes CLS! BMW 6 Gran Coupe is a four-door version of BMW 6 Series Coupe. 6 Gran Coupe and 6 Coupe have the same front look and very similar rear look. Many people may not understand the different that easily. However, BMW 6 Gran Coupe offers something amazing, proper legroom at the rear. Unfortunately, BMW 6 Coupe is not very well-known for its rear legroom and people may suffer during the long journeys. So, here is the solution; BMW 6 Gran Coupe.
BMW 6 Gran Coupe offers same the dynamic driving character you find in 6 Coupe, and offer four-door with proper leg room at the rear seats. For me, 6 Gran Coupe is better choice than BMW 5 Series. I am not into those four-door executive sedans, they are not but not my type. If you are looking for a four-door car, go for BMW 6 Gran Coupe. I am sure you won’t regret it.
BMW 6 Gran Coupe is also available with all-wheel drive option xDrive for 650i model, but not in UK, yet. The engines are 640i (3-lt turbo petrol 320 PS, 450 Nm torque), 650i (4.4-lt turbo petrol 450 PS, 650 Nm torque) and 640d (3-lt turbo diesel 313 PS, 630 nm torque).
And thanks to BMW Sytner Birmingham dealer for the hospitality.

BMW 640d xDrive

BMW just released the information about the all-wheel drive 640d xDrive. During last decade, Mercedes and BMW increased the portion of all-wheel drive models all over their vehicle range. Like in Mercedes, you may have the xDrive system on any model except 1 Series! I am not complaining about this, however 6 Series always have a special place for me with its rear wheel drive; it is more fun!
I know that all-wheel drive lets you to cope with adverse road conditions and you can drive your coupe freely at any weather condition. Also, the system allows you to have fun but I would still go for rear wheel drive for 6 Series.  Still, it is good to have xDrive on 6 Series!
Engine is a TwinPower Turbo diesel 3-lt produces 313PS with 630nm of torque and accelerate to 100 kph (62 mph) in just 5,2 seconds.

People who find the 5 Series boring and serious; and consider the 6 Series does not have the adequate number of doors. Eventually, having trouble to find an appropriate car from BMW. In order to satisfy their needs, they need to buy either a Mercedes CLS or an Audi A7! For BMW fans, this is something really hard and they have to decide between 5 and 6 Series.

New BMW 6 Series with naked eyes

For quite long time I was planning to visit a BMW dealer to see the new BMW 6 Series with my own eyes. As I mentioned many times before, it is one of the best looking GT on market with a reasonable price tag relative to Aston Martin! New 6 Series is good to be true, a well-designed car with a very sophisticated interior and lots of technology is packed.  This perfect equation might have some gaps and I wanted to know them.
My expectation was, I will enter the 6 Series and the interior would not be as good as the press release pictures. As you know that, car companies have great photography teams and they can turn a Lada Niva into a Range Rover with some tricks. Therefore, if you want to know a car better, you have to see with your own eyes.
On Saturday I went to Synter BMW dealer in Birmingham. From the Google Maps, it seemed to be a longer distance for walking but it was not. Despite I visited the dealer on Saturday, it was not that crowded. Usually on weekends, car dealers are busy but the good weather helped me to have a relaxed visit.
New 6 Series is the same as you saw on pictures. Exterior design is excellent, from the rear you can see some bits of classic 635i. As you expected, exterior has the night vision camera, rain sensors, long beam sensors, rear view camera and etc. The important thing is the interior. If you are driving a 1 Series or 3 Series, after seeing new 6 Series you will be really disappointed with your car. Because, it is amazing! Everywhere is full of leather, wood and aluminium. And BMW realised its mistake with pedal shifts, they replaced them. Now the right is minus and the left is plus, which is easier to use and not confusing. Ergonomics is excellent and iDrive does not make you crazy. The only drawback is the rear seats, there are very limited space available. This is something very usual for cabrio cars. This 6 Series is a cabrio and the tent consumes some respectful space. Therefore don’t expect long trip to be comfortable in rear seats.
Unfortunately, I did not have chance to drive it but I did what I want to do! Don’t expect have the same experience like in an Aston Martin but believe me, it deserves its price tag! You will not feel depressed when you see the other GTs ;) Basically, if you have money to buy a new 6 Series, go and buy one. You don’t have to think too much :)

New BMW 6 Series have some interesting photos!

New BMW 6 Series is one of the best looking GT cars with reasonable price! When we consider the other GT cars like; Aston Martin, Ferrari, Maserati and others. 6 Series is really cheap and look really nice. Even though it was lots of engine option and it is a sibling called 1 Series, I really loved the new 6 Series.
However I was shocked with the press release photo! The ones which you can see below do not look realistic. Actually, they look photoshop! As far as I know automotive firms usually don’t prefer to use photoshop but I cannot understand how these things happened. May be I am wrong but, they still look a bit weird!
The problem is, there are no proper shadows :O
