New Porsche 911 Carrera 4 and 4S

Porsche 911 Carrera 4 and 4S are revealed today. Porsche 911 is the perfection in automotive engineering, for decade Porsche constantly improved the 911 and shift the bar higher. Even though, manufacturing of Porsche 911 is too much robotic and lack of emotional touch of a Lamborghini, Porsche 911 is still one of the best cars in the world!
With new all-wheel drive option in 911, everything got better. I really don’t like the rear wheel driven Porsche 911s. I don’t know why but, I would not buy a rear-wheel driven 911. I think it is a bit psychological, when there is an all-wheel drive option, it makes you feel more confident on the road and you don’t want to ignore this option. And you have the full power of the engine on the road.
With Porsche Carrera 4 and 4S models, Porsche started to introduce more technology. Radar guided cruise control (ACC), front-end collision preventer Porsche Active Safe, sliding glass sunroof (So Targa model may not be available in future) and extended sport Chrono Pack with double declutching function.
Porsche 911 Carrera 4 and 4S are available with 7-speed manual or 7-speed PDK (double clutch automatic gearbox). I highly recommend you to buy PDK gearbox, manual is the old technology! Depressing clutch is old school, sorry!
Technical details;
All new models have a 7-speed manual gearbox as standard, and the Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) gearbox is available as an option. The 911 Carrera 4 Coupé with 350 hp (257 kW) can sprint from zero to 100 km/h in as little as 4.5 seconds (Cabriolet: 4.7 s) and reach a top speed of up to 285 km/h (Cabriolet: 282 km/h), depending on equipment features. Fuel consumption with PDK is 8.6 l/100 km (CO2 203 g/km) for the Coupé and 8.7 l/100 km (CO2 205 g/km) for the Cabriolet.
The Coupé and Cabriolet of the 911 Carrera 4 S each have a 3.8-litre rear-mounted boxer engine that produces 400 hp (294 kW); this enables acceleration to 100 km/h in 4.1 seconds (Cabriolet: 4.3 seconds) and a top speed of 299 km/h (Cabriolet: 296 km/h) with a suitable equipment configuration. Fuel consumption values with PDK are 9.1 l/100 km (CO2 215 g/km) for the Coupé and 9.2 l/100 km (CO2 217 g/km) for the Cabriolet.

New Porsche 911 Received Red Dot Design Award

The new Porsche 911 and the previous Porsche 911 look the different from many angles but, for many people they look exactly the same. I kind of agree with those people, new 911 looks exactly the same as before.
Nothing really changed but it looks better, especially I like the new design of rear automatic rising spoiler.
When it is in stationary position, you never realise the spoiler, it looks seamless! Also, when it is raised, it is perfect matching with the exterior design. However many people may never realise this. Except some!
Recently new Porsche 911 receives design award from Red Dot. 30-strong international jury of experts suggest that; new 911 has a “unique” design language that is sourced by the functional and emotional design factors. Moreover, new 911 combines the innovation and tradition, power and elegance.
Actually, I am really impressed with the Red Dot jury! For many people, new 911 looks the same! I really don’t like to say this and it is a bit harsh but this is the reality. Not only 911 looks the same; the new Bentley Continental, the new Audi A3 and many other new cars try not to scare their existing customers by offering something totally different. Reference to this incident; previous BMW 3 Series by Chris Bangle! It was a big shock for everyone.
Anyway, I still like the new 911 and I don’t mind whether it looks the same or not. In the end, that’s a Porsche 911.

New vs Old: Porsche 911, Bentley Continental GT and BMW 3-Series

For today, I have a very basic test for you. Just check these four car; the first row is Bentley Continental GT and the second row is Porsche 911. The cars on the left side are the new models and the ones on the right are the old models. Did you notice a similarity between Bentley and Porsche? There is one thing in common! They both did not alter their design concept for the new models. As you know see, the new models looks exactly the same as the previous model. I do know that, there are many changes but, they don’t look that different like the BMW 3 Series. When you look at the 3 Series on the left and on the right. There is a serious and obvious design diversification.
I can assume one thing, Bentley and Porsche do not wish to look their loyal customers and they sustain this by sticking on the same design concept for the new models. So, they don’t look that different.

New Porsche 911 iPhone and iPad Application

Porsche just released an iPhone and iPad application for the new 911. I didn’t have chance to try it before, and today I installed the application on both iPhone and iPad. It is really well made application, you have chance to see the new 911 in closer with high quality details, and learn the details of new 911 with an interactive movie.

The exterior is not something different but it is good to see the interior before having chance to see the new 911 at showrooms.

The application performs better image quality for the interactive video at iPhone, just keep in mind. And it is more than 400 MB, quite big application for 911.

New Porsche 911 (991)

My followers know that I don’t like to talk about the new cars in my blog. There are many places on internet, where you can find information about the new cars. But I cannot ignore the new Porsche 911! A few days ago official photos of the new 911 is released. And I didn’t wish to skip this news.

As usually, 911 doesn’t look that different. Honestly, since the first 911 nothing has really changed. So, preceding model owners happy all the time, they always have a nice looking car :)

But, this model changes everything. I think it is the best looking 911! The raising tail matches with the 911’s curve perfectly and big wheel arches completes the design harmony. New 911 has a great design composition.

New Porsche 911 is lighter, more economical, faster and more powerful!

Porsche Cayman & Boxster: Think Again

When you dream of something, usually you don’t consider the price! I think this comes from the dreams, the ones we see while sleeping not during the daytime. There is a no need use money in a dream, because you can have everything with no financial concerns.
During the day dreaming, we don’t care about money too. I was doing this for Porsche 911. It is a very expensive at everywhere regardless of ruthless import taxes. 911 is an expensive but this never let me down for dreaming. And I always thinking, why people buy Boxster and Cayman while 911 is available.
So, I decided to check the price of a 911 Carrera S (It would be easier to compare with Cayman S and Boxster S). And I immediately notice that, 911 Carrera S is price nearly twice of a Cayman S or Boxster S! My dream car 911 costs relatively too much for the Porsche range. Therefore, many people rush into Cayman and Boxster. Eventually, they are not slow either! Both of them accelerate quite well and offer many 911 technologies with a more reasonable price. And also, Boxster and Cayman are middle engine cars, they will definitely offer a unique driving pleasure. 911 is a rear engine, which means that are lots of weight on the rear wheels.
Buying a Boxster or Cayman is not a bad option for the start ;)
Honestly, Cayman S is not a bad option. For that price, it is better than a BMW Z4 and Mercedes SLK. They are not bad cars but Cayman is a Porsche.
