Bentley Infinite | Fragrance from Bentley

Bentley Infinite, the iconic British car manufacturer has a brand selling perfumes that encapsulate the Bentley design and character. Sounds unlikely? On the contrary, this is very real. And recently Bentley introduced a new fragrance, Infinite.

I was lucky enough to attend their press day in London. This took place at the Sky Garden in London which has an amazing view, as you would expect from a skyscraper. It is really refreshing to see nature at that level. Ironically, the Walkie Talkie skyscraper that houses the Sky Garden made the news in 2013 for emitting a solar glare that melted several high-end cars parked on the street below.

But back to the fragrance launch, Bentley Infinite offers an amazing scent. The top notes are cedrat, lavendin and cedar leaf; heart notes are bourbon pepper, geranium bourbon and violet leaves and the base notes are patchouli, vetiver from Haiti and ambergris accord.

If these notes do not mean anything to you, I’ll simplify: Bentley Infinite smells amazing and unlike other car branded perfumes, Bentley has managed to balance its motoring soul with a touch of fashion. You would never expect Infinite to originate from a car company. However, the Bentley DNA is definitely apparent with the heavy glass bottle and metal finishes that resemble Bentley’s control knobs.

If Infinite appeals to your nose, I would highly suggest opting for the Eau de Parfum. The price gap between the Eau de Toilette and Eau de Parfum is really close, so go for the Parfum. I mean, if you are buying a luxury brand like Bentley, Parfum should be the natural choice.

Bentley Mulsanne, it is the most expensive Bentley at the moment. And few weeks ago, the Jack Barclay (HR Owen) London dealership hosted a Mulsanne week. There were lots of Mulsannes and I was lucky enough to be there.

You cannot find more Bentley Mulsannes under any other roof!

Bentley Mulsanne Speed | 50 Shades of Grey

Bentley Mulsanne Speed, this is the faster version of the standard Mulsanne. So what is special with the Mulsanne Speed, it is powered by a 6.75-lt V8 engine producing 537 HP with 1100 nm of torque. It is coupled with 8-speed automatic gearbox and only needs 4.9 seconds to reach 100 km/h with the top speed of 305 km/h. And it has the most ideal colour for this week, 50 Shades of Grey!

This Bentley Mulsanne Speed is painted in Dark Grey Satin, it looks very sexy and that’s why I found a resemblance with the 50 Shades of Grey movie. And it is still available to see at Jack Barclay, HR Owen dealer!

Bentley Continental GT V8 S | Top Gear | Canon 50mm f 1.8

I am sure you all watched the last episode of Top Gear and excited with the tweety yellow coloured Bentley Continental GT V8 S! And I did a massive journalism and manage to spot a Monaco Yellow Bentley Continental GT V8 S at Jack Barclay HR Owen. As you guessed, Bentley branded this tweety inspired yellow as Monaco Yellow. Sounds better!

As usual, I took the photos with Canon 50mm f 1.8 for an artist approach!

GT V8 S may have a 4-lt V8 engine with 528 HP but it is better balanced than the W12. Because, V8 is lighter than the W12 and this reduces the tendency to understeer at the corner. Also, lighter engine means, less nose dive under heavy breaking!

Technical details? V8 S only needs 4.5 seconds to reach 100 km/h with 528 HP and 680 nm of torque. The engine is coupled with 8-speed conventional automatic gearbox and the top speed is 309 km/h!

The best bit, this Bentley is available to purchase at Jack Barclay, HR Owen! And it is pre-owned, so it is relatively more affordable!

Bentley Bentayga | What is Bentayga

Bentley announced the name of its SUV, it is Bentayga. And what is Bentayga? Bentayga name comes from Roque Bentayga from Gran Canaria in the Atlantic. When you Google Roque Bentayga, you will see a very rough mountain. However, Bentley’s SUV would never be able to reach that peak, actually without differential locks and low-range gearbox Bentley Bentayga will only be able to reach the highest shopping centre on earth and that’s all!

Despite the lack of off road abilities of Bentley Bentayga, most of the customers will not be bothered with this. And also the lovely Range Rover will be losing its poshness after the Bentley Bentayga. At the moment, the Range Rover is the pinnacle of the luxury SUV. However after Bentley Bentayga, Range Rover will be relatively more affordable and many people will be rushing to Bentley Bentayga.

Also, we will be seeing lots of Bentley Bentayga on music videos. Footballers will be buying, lottery winners will be buying and lots of customers from rich parts of the world will have a Bentley Bentayga regardless of its design. Because, Bentley revealed a SUV concept few years ago and it was a catastrophe!

If you ordered one, you know the design. If you cannot order one, just wait and you will see one.

New Bentley Grand Convertible / Mulsanne Convertible

Bentley Grand Convertible is recently revealed to public. In case you have no idea what is Grand Convertible. Basically, Grand Convertible is the two-door cabrio version of the four-door Mulsanne. And this shows us, Bentley skipped the Mulsanne Coupe and shifted to Mulsanne Convertible (Grand Convertible).

Grand Convertible is powered by a 6.75-lt V8 with 537 HP and 1100 nm of torque. And eight-speed automatic gearbox is coupled. This car will be really fast! And I am sure, the potential owners of Grand Convertible are more focused on the wood and bespoke customisation than the horsepower!

I really like Mulsanne, it harmonises the Bentley heritage with modern touches. Similar to Mulsanne, Grand Convertible does the same. It is still a Bentley but it is doesn’t look dull or too traditional. Also 1100 nm of torque will increase the entertainment factor.

Bentley Mulsanne 95, the anniversary model of from Bentley to celebrate the 95th year! The most important features of the Mulsanne 95 is the wooden trim. Unlike other models, Bentley decided to supply the wood from a 400-year old walnut tree from Lincolnshire. Mulsanne 95 is limited to 15 customers and in three different colours (Britannia Blue, Empire Red and Oxford White) to reflect the British roots of the brand, even though it is owned by the Volkswagen.

If you had chance, the blue Mulsanne 95 was on display at Jack Barclay, HR Owen in London. If you didn’t have chance to see it, I have the photos. Don’t worry Mulsanne 95 doesn’t include any 400-year gadgets inside the car!

Bentley Continental GT3 R and Lamborghini Huracan at NEC Birmingham

Few weeks ago, I had the chance to see the Bentley Continental GT3 R and latest Lamborghini, Huracan. Where I saw them? Not in front the Doncaster Hotel, I saw in Birmingham. Bentley and Lamborghini dealer of Birmingham hold an event last week at NEC. It was a unique opportunity to see these two new cars at the same time.

The event took at NEC but not inside the venue, it was outside but inside a inflatable marquee. Actually, it was a very unique technology. The marquee was made from a special fibre similar to airbags and filled with air. The advantage of this material is the opportunity to colour with a light source.

The other interesting thing was the ice sculptures. Actually, when I first saw them, I thought they were made from plastic but they were real ice. By a cooling system the ice sculptures were able to stand still without melting during the whole event and created a very sophisticated atmosphere.

Bentley GT3 R? It is based on the Continental but lighter, more powerful and faster. Actually, I liked GT3 R more than the traditional Continental GT. GT3 R offers the Le Mans feeling. Unfortunately, GT3 R is a very limited edition and will not available to mass production. Actually, GT3 R would offer a unique taste to Continental family and capture a new type of customers. Porsche 911 offers GT3 version and not limited. I think Bentley should consider this option in future.

Lamborghini Huracan, it is here to replaced the aging Gallordo. And similar to Gallardo, Huracan’s deisng does not offer very bold and distinctive lines. Similar to Gallordo, it is not a huge car and easier to get inside than an Aventador. The Huracan has two new party piece; first one the lots of buttons on steering wheel. It is obvious that, Lamborghini followed the footsteps of Ferrari while placing on functions on the steering wheel. Personally, I am not fan of this. Placing many buttons on the steering wheel may increase the sportive character but in daily traffic, it can be quite hard to control all these functions. But still, I would love to try it.

Another nice thing with the Huracan is the high definition, instrument panel. Unfortunately, automotive industry is moving towards to full digital instrument panel and removing all analog dials. This provides more room to place information on the instrument panel and customised them more easily. I still like the old dials. I can see that Lamborghini decided to design the Huracan for every day use. For the VW, Lamborghinis were only be driven if you are planning to go forward and never reverse! However, those days are gone people want to drive their supercar to everywhere. And this it the answer to market! Also Huracan is a all-wheel drive car, if you replace the tyres with winter tyres, you can drive the Huracan all year long.

Huracan definitely offers a unique alternative to Ferrari 458. And still all Lamborghinis are built by hand, there are no robots during the manufacturing process. The main reason for this, Lamborghini does not manufacture thounsands of car. So, it is more profitable to manufacture this way and enables to keep the exquisite soul of Lamborghini.

And thanks to Violent Blondes for the great DJ performance for the whole night.
