BMW M5 30 Jahre M5 Edition

BMW M5 ’30 Jahre M5′ edition is revealed today or yesterday. Yes, it has been 30 years since the BMW revealed the first M5! Unfortunately, my first encounter with the BMW M5 was in 1996 or 1997. But it is my all time favourite car, even though my chance to owning a M5 is really low but this does not prevent me to emerge emotional links with the M5 :)
The 30 Jahre M5 is a bit more special than your friend’s M5, who revs up the engine all day with no particular reason. The BMW M5 30 Jahre M5 comes with the Competition Package which is optional on the normal M5s. The engine produces 600 HP and 700 Nm of torque. This means extra 40 HP and 20 Nm! The engine is coupled with the lovely 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox, and stagerring weight of 1.8-tonne! 30 Jahre M5 does need 3.9 seconds to reach 100 km/h and the top speed is limited 250 km/h. Or you can pay extra and unlock to 305 km/h, which I found it senseless. You will never drive that fast and try not to drive that fast!
BMW M5 30 Jahre M5 edition is a very remarkable car and only available 300 people. I hope they will look after this car well.

BMW Emergency Vehicles

BMW emergency vehicles, you didn’t read wrong. BMW offers various types of emergency vehicles to satisfy your needs. If you are normal individual, you can only buy the bullet proof models but for the government the range starts with ambulance and ends up with police vehicle.
Definitely BMW will offers very good handling in emergency situations!
Personally, I love the coolness of the emergency vehicle! Nothing can replaces the feeling of flashing light :)

BMW Vision Future Luxury | The New BMW 7-Series

The new BMW 7-Series based on BMW Vision Future Luxury concept vehicle. BMW recently revealed the photos of their huge luxury concept vehicle and gave some hints for their future product strategy.

And I assume that, Future Luxury concept vehicle will be born as the new 7-Series. Because, 7-Series is the flagship of the BMW and it should provide the latest technology and comfort. Starting with laser light system that will replace the traditional headlight system, OLED interior lighting at the rear, more efficient (as usual), exclusive and elegant exterior design (concept car is hand-made), Rear Seat Touch Command Tablet that extends the ConnectedDrive concept into rear seats, more comprehensive head-up display system and new user interface for the iDrive or ConnectedDrive (It will take longer to change the climate controls heat setting).

My personal view? BMW Vision Future Luxury looks amazing! Attention to details, interior design, materials are exquisite. I think the upcoming 7-Series will be more competitive.

The New BMW X4

BMW X4 is finally arrived! X4 is the younger sibling of the enormous sport SUV X6! And shares the same designed concept with X6 but with an additional seat at the rear. BMW X4 is the sport version of the X3 with coupe design. The success of the BMW X6 increased the pressure to develop an entry level sport and coupe looking X6 and we end with X4.
BMW X4 is basically a X3, the features are the same, the interior is more or less the same. Engines are the same but X4 drives more connected and aggressive. Also, look relatively better. However, I still cannot get use to the design philosophy of the X3 and X4!
All X4 models are four-wheel drive, there are not rear-wheel drive model at the moment due to the X3’s platform that does not any rear-wheel drive option. The available engines are starting with diesels; 20d (2-lt diesel / 190 HP / 400 Nm), 30d (3-lt / 258 HP / 560 Nm) and 35d (3-lt / 313 HP / 630 Nm). And petrol engines are 20i (2-lt / 184 HP / 270 Nm), 28i (2-lt / 245 HP / 350 Nm) and 35i (3-lt / 306 / 400 Nm). All engines are available with 8-speed automatic transmission. Acceleration and top speed figures are; 20d (8 seconds to 100 km/h and 212 km/h top speed), 30d (5,8 seconds to 100 km/h and 237 km/h top speed) and 35d (5.2 seconds to 100 km/h and 247 km/h top speed). And petrol engines are 20i (8.1 seconds to 100 km/h and 212 km/h top speed), 28i (6.4 seconds to 100 km/h and 232 km/h top speed) and 35i (5.5 seconds to 100 km/h and 247 km/h top speed). Petrol engine figures are only for information, I know none of your will buy a petrol X4 in Europe :)

BMW i8 is a plug-in hybrid sports car made from carbon fibre. i8 is the second car from the BMW’s new product line called i Series for electric powered low emission vehicle range. Anyway, let’s forget the technical things. When you buy an electric car, you will notice something! There is no proper boot space and the boot space looks a bit weird. In order to find a solution to this, you may try to buy and return many different bags and spend lots of time. BMW i3 Worth to Buy?

BMW i3, finally I had chance to see the production version. My first impression was, i3 looks something really different than the other BMW cars. You notice the authentic character of the i3 very easily. Designers managed to reflect the electric drive train to design language. Even though the i3 is a small car from outside, but the interior space and rear legroom is more than enough. Actually, it is very spacious for its size. 
However, the boot is tiny but i3 is a small car. Also the rear-hinged doors are really nice feature and resemble with Rolls Royce. And it is really easy to getting in and out for the rear seats. And overall interior quality of BMW i3 is way better than the 1-Series, even the 3-Series!
Technical details of BMW i3: I highly recommend the two-stroke generator with 9-lt fuel tank. Buy it, you won’t have the stress of charging. Electric engine is 120 HP with 250 Nm of torque. Only 9,2 seconds is enough to reach 100 km/h and the top speed is limited to 150 km/h for better efficiency. Battery capacity is 19kWh and you can use rapid chargers. Tyres are 155/ 70 R19 and look funny.
Worth to buy? Yes!

The New BMW M3 and M4

The new BMW M3 and M4 photos are revealed to public. But why I didn’t post them on my blog? I am very good at following trends and trying to be the first to publish photos and technical details, but I cannot keep up with big news portals. Honestly, I didn’t find a solid motivation to write about the new M3 and M4. May be it was too much on media, especially on social media and I decided to publish the photos today.

Actually, M3 and M4 used to be called M3 Coupe and Sedan. But after the BMW’s new branding strategy, the Coupe is now called M4 and the Sedan is called M3. Honestly, I don’t mind that much but it ruined the M3 heritage a bit. I think everyone has a memory with M3. Mine is back to high school years, a blue M3. I think the year was 1997 or 1998. The owner was a student at Anadolu University, Eskisehir in Turkey. And in those years, M3 was not something that common to see in a small city of Turkey. But we were lucky. The M3 was driven like VW Polo. Dirty, all the time on the road. That M3 did not have a very previlidged life. And that’s why I always remember that M3, whenever I see a M3 on street.

Nowadays, you spot a Bentley in a Turkish university as a mean of transportation for a wealthy student. So the BMW M3 is not that exclusive anymore.

Anyway, the new BMW M3 and M4 is powered by TwinPower turbo 3-lt petrol engine with 431 HP and 550 Nm of torque. The engine is coupled with a 7-speed double clutch automatic gearbox and if you still insist to live in 1980s, there is a manual option. Or you can travel back time to 1980s and cheer up with the manual gearboxes that are not efficient.  M3 and M4 only need 4.1 seconds to reach 100 km/h. But keep in mind, BMW’s figures are usually a bit slower than the reality. And the speed is limited to 250 km/h if you are poor. If you are rich, the top speed of M3 and M4 is 280 km/h with M Driver’s Package.

Photos of the New MINI: Third Generation: The Biggest Gadget

Photos of the New MINI is here, according to BMW third generation MINI is made from scratch. However, it doesn’t seem so. I still see the major design clues from the first generation MINI designed by Frank Stephenson. Honestly, it is impossible to change the design philosophy of a car like MINI in one day!
The third generation MINI is larger and bigger than the previous models and contradicts with MINI! 98mm longer, 44mm wider, 7mm higher! Thus larger interior cabin and bigger boot!
However, the innovations are not limited with the extended size! Now MINI is available with all BMW technologies! Keyless access, active radar guided cruise control, emergency slides, pedestrian detection, road sign detection, automatic parking, head-up display, ejection seat, adaptive suspensions and lots more. And you have lots of apps to install to your onboard entertainment system. Literally, the new MINI is a proper rival to iPhone5S and Samsung Galaxy S4!
There are three new engines, 1.5-lt 3-cylinder petrol engine with 134 HP with 170 Nm of torque. 1.5-lt 3-cylinder diesel engine with 114 HP with 270 Nm of torque. 2-lt petrol engine with 192 HP and 280 Nm of torque. All the engines have turbo otherwise, they cannot produce these amounts of power! Actually, the previous Cooper S has 1.6-lt engine and now BMW shifted to 2-lt petrol engine. That’s not impressive. Bigger engine means heavy nose, heavy nose means tendency to understeer, tendency to understeer means, why I should buy this car instead of Fiat 500!
Unfortunately, there is a six-speed manual pointless gearbox, just avoid it. And you can have the new MINI with state-of-art six-speed automatic or sport automatic gearboxes.
Now the MINI is packed up with all BMW technologies. This is a part of the BMW’s strategy. They extend their safety and driving technologies across their brands from MINI to Rolls Royce. Thus, they increase the competitive power of their products and that’s correct. Now the MINI is the best small car on the market. None of the competitors can offer these technologies inside a small car. Many people like me would go for the MINI for its toys.
But the said thing is, people never order their cars with high tech safety and driving technologies. They only order the with plain features. If you ask them, they have the latest model with manual air condition. And I assume we will see the same scenery with the new MINI. But I have big hopes for fully loaded MINIs to go around. If I can buy one, you will see the most sophisticated gadget on wheels :D
Price? Of course expensive an like iPhone :)

New BMW 435i M Sport

BMW 435i M Sport, today I had chance to see the new BMW 4-Coupe at Parklane, London dealer. And it is amazing, it looks way better than BMW 3-Series. The interior is really well made and easily competes with Audi. Everything and know feel solid and you can feel the quality. It is really clear that BMW closed the gap with the Audi and probably up coming new model will more competitive in terms of interior build quality.

BMW 435i is a 3-lt turbo petrol engine with 306 HP and 400 Nm of torque. The engine is coupled with 8-speed automatic and only needs 5.1 seconds to reach 100 km/h and the top speed is limited to 250 km/h, as usual :)

Worth to buy? Definitely Yes!
