Improved McLaren MP4-12C at London Dealer

McLaren MP4-12C is the second car wholly designed and manufactured by McLaren after McLaren F1. MP4-12C does not have a very charming and marketing friendly model name but that’s the only drawback. MP4-12C is designed by Frank Stephenson and you can watch my interview with him about MP4-12C on YouTube.
Last week, I visited the McLaren’s London dealer in Knightsbridge, placed under the most expensive apartment One Hyde Park. Like the factory, McLaren dealer is designed with perfection. And they show the improved version of MP4-12C with a special colour, Kiwi Green.
This MP4-12C is no different than the previous one, actually only minor things have changed and except vehicle rise system and door button, the rest of the software upgrade can be applied to existing owners with no extra cost.
The revised MP4-12C has more power, 625 HP without any revision on engine or exhaust, just a new software. New gearbox software to improve gear shifts. There is a new lightweight wheel design. Software update on in-car entertainment system to improve sound system and experience.
Unfortunately, physical door button is not available to apply to existing vehicles due to technical issues. But, it is better than the touch sensitive button. And I was sure that, McLaren is going to replace iPhone style door opening system. It was too sensitive for adverse weather conditions. Another cleaver feature that cannot be applied is the rising vehicle for speed bumps and adverse road conditions. This is a must for fast cars!
And McLaren is going to keep developing the MP4-12C and offer these updates with no extra cost to existing owners. Because, McLaren is a Formula 1 company and each season the F1 car is developed all the time. Therefore, McLaren transferred this philosophy mass production road car, MP4-12C to reflect McLaren DNA.
And thanks for the great hospitality to McLaren London Dealer.

Ferrari Guinness World Record at Silverstone by Charles Davis Photos

Ferrari’s attempt to break Guinness World Record for largestFerrari parade is well-known by everyone. And they managed to achieve this by more than 1000 Ferraris in Silverstone. Unfortunately, I was busy at that day and missed the opportunity to see this amazing event.
However, my dear friend Charles Davis (Founder of Professional Photography) attended the event and took pictured the astonishing moments of the Ferrari parade. And he had opportunity to enter track and get very close to all these fabulous Ferraris. Actually, it is really hard to get access for the track and only very few people have this privilege.
I am not a photography expert but from my experiences I can say one thing, most of these shoots cannot be taken so easily. Especially the Formula 1 car’s burnout moment is really hard to picture. Even if you have the proper equipment, you need experience and talent to catch that moment.
You may find more of Charles work on his website and don’t forget to check his twitter.
Here some of the Ferraris from the photos; Ferrari 599FXX, Ferrari FFs, 599XX Evoluzione, Scuderia Ferrari F1 F2008, F458 Italia, F430.

Interview with Ben Sayer (PR Manager of ProDrive)

Today I was in Ben Sayer, PR Manager of ProDrive. If you are a bit interested on world rally championship, I am sure you know ProDrive. They worked with Porsche, Subaru, Ferrari, Aston Martin and Mini. Their job is to develop cars for racing, especially for word rally championship.
For me it was a great experience to visit ProDrive and see their heritage cars. Since I was a kid, I always heard ProDrive on TV but did not have opportunity to visit their head office. Thanks to Ben, I have been to head office of the legendary ProDrive.
In interview; Ben and I talked about future world rally championship (RedBull will in WRC), how live coverage of French WRC stage will be, history of ProDrive and their engagement with manufacturers, of course social media.
It was great to hear that ProDrive appreciates the works of bloggers and doing their best for us to create our content.
It was a great interview and great experience to be in ProDrive. I am sure you will like the interview and have an opportunity to see how the head office ProDrive looks like :)

Ferrari Formula 1 Steering Wheel

Ferrari’s Formula 1 steering wheel! Ferrari revealed one of the most secret part of the Formula 1, the steering wheel. Of course, it is not the first time Ferrari revealed the steering wheel but it is one of the biggest mystery of the Formula 1.

Just the steering wheel costs more than a family hatchback car and controls each minor control on the vehicle.  The steering wheel in the footage is from Fernando Alonso’s car, drivers may ask individual steer wheels for better comfort!

Some of the switches are; torque management, flap, maximum rpm, fuel mixture level, clutch sensivity, KERS system and others.

Schumacher and Rosberg Built a Mercedes AMG Engine

Schumacher and Rosberg decided to build a Mercedes AMG engine. Building a Mercedes AMG engine is a real tough job and I am sure it is not that easy as it seen on TV. Hopefully, Mercedes recoded the moment of the engine built by Schumacher and Rosberg.
Schumacher and Rosberg built a V8 twin-turbo 5.5-lt, 557 PS AMG engine for Mercedes CLS 63 AMG Shooting Brake model.
Schumacher and Rosberg are great Formula 1 pilots, I hope their engine will be as robust as them. Also, they can open their workshop after retirement :)

Hugo Boss fashion brand released six video on YouTube. There is nothing unusual with this! However, these videos are about how to play golf, lessons! There are six different videos made by Nick Watney and Martin Kaymer. The main reason for these videos, Hugo Boss has a brand for golf sport, Hugo Boss Green. In order to increase the awareness of the Hugo Boss Greenand lead people to buy it more, they created these golf tutorial videos. And here is the list of the lessons;
How to hit a basic Bunker Shot by Nick Watney
How to play Chip and Run by Martin Kaymer
Teeing by Nick Watney
How to put like Nick Watney by Nick Watney
How to hit a Lob Shot by Martin Kaymer
How to hit a Fade by Martin Kaymer
After these videos, I am expecting to see Formula 1 driving tutorials from Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button. Most probably, you won’t be able to try the tutorials but at least, you will have some knowledge.

Formula 2012 Spain: Williams Pit Fire

Formula 1 Spain grand prix ended up with a really bad incident. KERS system in Williams team car caught fire and in couple of seconds, it became massive. The whole Formula 1 team crews rush to fire to stop it. Hopefully, no one lost their life in this fire incident.
But, I was expecting Formula 1 organisation to have a better fire system. There should be fail safe systems to prevent this scenery.
I found some videos from YouTube from the incident.

Susie Wolff (Stoddart) News

Yesterday, I noticed that people were searching about Susie like crazy. So, I did some research and I found out that, she will work as development driver for Williams Formula One team! A very big well done to you :)

And some gossip, she is married to Williams’s share holder, Toto Wolff! I am joking, if she doesn’t have the talent they won’t be hiring her.

Hope to see a woman F1 driver after decades :)

Formula 1 is Back to America: Red Bull

This year Formula 1 is going back to US. Nearly for one-decade, Formula 1 did not appear in North of America and they wish to make an impressive return, also increase the awareness. I mentioned impressive because Red Bull’s footage to celebrate the Formula 1 is back in USA definitely highlights this. It has a really amazing story, all the details are very well connected with the American culture and reflects the exclusive character of Formula 1.
To understand what I mean, you need to watch the whole footage.
