The Ferrari 812 Superfast is the new F12

Ferrari recently revealed the replacement for the Ferrari F12, the 812 Superfast. The Ferrari 812 Superfast brand does not sound very tempting, and seems as though the branding team was on holiday when the name was picked.

The title 812 comes from the fact that the car has 800 HP and a 12-cylinder engine. You add them together and you have the 812! You see, it is clever. Like the new electric steering wheel in the Ferrari 812.

With the 812, Ferrari has introduced the first electric steering wheel (EPS – Electric Power Steering) to the market. Probably, some people may not be happy with this situation and any steering wheel feedback may vanish due to the electric setup. At the moment, I haven’t noticed any negative feedback from the reviews, but we will see how it goes. However, this is the trend in the automotive industry. Steering wheels are becoming electric!

The Ferrari 812 offers the Side Slip Control (SSC) version 5.0 and the new Virtual Short Wheelbase 2.0 system (PCV). Both of these features are designed to make the Ferrari experience better. However, the key important point with regard to the 812 is the engine. The V12 6.5-lt naturally aspirated engine is the last naturally aspirated engine from Ferrari. Therefore, Ferrari 812 will be a future icon. All other Ferrari models are now being offered with a turbo engine, and the naturally aspirated engine era is about to end.

The other improvements relate to the instrument panel and the infotainment systems. Ferrari claims they are improved and way better. However, this is questionable!

Anyway, here are the technical details of the Ferrari 812 Superfast;

Type V12 – 65°
Overall displacement 6,496 cc
Maximum power output * 588 kW (800 cv) at 8,500 rpm
Maximum torque * 718 Nm at 7,000 rpm
Dry weight 1,525 kg
Weight distribution 47-53% front/rear
Maximum speed >340 Km/h
0-100 km/h 2.9 sec
Fuel consumption 14,9 l/100km
Emissions 340g CO2/km

Ferrari FF, Ferrari California-T and Ferrari F12berlinetta

Ferrari FF, Ferrari California-T and Ferrari F12berlinetta. They were under the same room, in the same place, at the same time. Sounds like a extremely rare occurrence but it is possible. And thankfully, I manage to spot these three breathtaking Ferraris at HR Owen’s dealership in Knightsbridge, London.

I have written many times about Ferraris. I didn’t think that you’d be bothered about the lack of radar guided cruise control or if you could expect an extremely smooth ride from a Ferrari.

Just look and praise.

Ferrari F12 berlinetta in London | Special Photos for #PinItForwardUK

Ferrari F12 berlinetta, the replacement of iconic 599. F12 is probably the first car with a bridge or a hole. I directly to jumped to this section, because it is unique and unusual to spot in any others vehicles. Ferrari F12 has an aerodynamic bridge to increase down force for better performance. More down force means better handling at higher speeds, objects have a tendency to lift off as they speed more! To avoid this, you need to increase down force aerodynamic tricks and this bridge on the F12 is the latest solution.

(Actually, these photos were taken specially for the Pinterest’s UK launch campaign #PinItForwardUK.)

I spotted this Ferrari F12 at HR Owen, London dealer. I was very lucky because their Ferrari circulation is higher than iPhone circulation at an Apple Store.

Ferrari F12 resembles to Ferrari FF from the front end but that’s all. F12 is a brand new vehicle with brand new technologies. Such as the air duck that opens when the brakes got hot too much. Cleaver Formula 1 technologies, 6.3-lt V12 engine with 730 HP and 690 Nm of torque. Brand new a 7-speed double clutch super fast automatic transmission. Also, lighter! New Ferrari F12 weighs no more than a 1,5-tonne. F12 only needs 3,1 seconds reach 100 km/h and top speed is over 340 km/h.

And offers the most complicated steering wheel on this planet. Ferrari F12 has the manetinno switch and nearly one hundred buttons more on the steering wheel! The individual suspension button on the steering wheel of F12 is for making the car drive softer at any manettino settings. I am definitely sure, if the steering wheel of Ferrari F12 breaks down, it will cost more than a small hatchback. And lastly, I loved the Formula 1 inspired rear fog light!

Ferrari F12berlinetta will be on Autosport International 2013

Ferrari F12berlinetta, the car that replaced the legendary Ferrari 599! F12berlinetta is just recently revealed to public and technically impossible to spot it around the world. Also I tried to spot the F12berlinetta in Ferrari’s London dealer but they haven’t received the car yet.

So this makes things more complicated! However, here is the solution to see the Ferrari F12berlinetta. Autosport International Show 2013 in Birmingham, UK. Autosport is the biggest motorsport show in the world and features many countless cars. Last year, it was the first time I saw the McLaren MP4-12C and many other very unique and niche cars.

This year PistonHeads.com stand is going to feature the Ferrari F12berlinetta. If you are still not excited here are some figures of Ferrari F12berlinetta! Powered by a 6.2-lt V12 engine with 740 HP and 690 Nm of torque and needs 3.1 seconds to reach 100 km/h and the top speed is 340 km/h.

You may find the tickets and more information on Autosport International 2013 from here.

Ferrari F12berlinetta from Paris Motor Show

Ferrari F12berlinatta, the replacement of the legendary V12 powered Ferrari 599. The F12berlinatta is faster, more efficient, lighter and more powerful. As you expected from Ferrari, each of their new cars coming from Maranello are always much better than the previous ones.
However, I really wonder how many Ferrari owners can utilise, benefit, or realise state-of-art technologies in a Ferrari. We all know that most of the Ferrari owners may not know what their car can do.
Anyway, this discussion can go forever therefore I want to share some photos of Ferrari F12berlinetta from the Paris Motor Show.
Ferrari F12berlinetta is powered by 6.2-lt V12 petrol engine with 740 PS and 690 Nm of torque. 3.1 seconds to reach 100 kph and the top speed is more than 340 kph.

Backstage of Ferrari F12berlintta’s Footage

If you are wondering how the latest footage of Ferrari F12berlinetta was taken, here is the answer from Ferrari. Hopefully, automotive companies realised importance of backstage footages! This has been done by fashion brands for ages and catches lots of interest.
During the shootings of the F12berlinetta, they have used my favourite SUV Mercedes-Benz ML63AMG as pursuit camera car and also a helicopter and also high-speed cameras and also 35mm movie cameras. This short footage we watched on YouTube was not prepared by a team of amateurs!
And if you are planning to hire this pursuit camera car here is the link! http://pursuitsystems.com/
