Land Rover has the most creative stand in the Goodwood Festival of Speed. The production line was a great idea to see the different parts of the Land Rover Discovery 4.

Honestly, I never seen the chassis and drive train of Discovery 4 that close. Actually, Discovery 4 has a serious, a proper chassis that you cannot find in nowadays. Because, most of the vehicles manufactures on monocoque technology. So, they are a bit like Lego. When you dissemble there is nothing and when you assemble, you have the vehicle.

Goodwood Festival of Speed: Lotus Sculpture

Lotus sculpture in Goodwood Festival of Speed is one of most impressing structures I have ever seen. The height of the sculpture was so tall and I had to go further to take photo of the whole structure.

Another thing made it so impressive is the Formula 1 cars of Lotus.They were attached to sculpture. The idea was very creative and I believe it was quite hard to construct.

Even this sculpture was a very good reason to visit Goodwood Festival of Speed. I really wish to talk more about the sculpture but I am not a design critics!

Goodwood Festival of Speed: Gold Mercedes G-Wagen

Gold Mercedes G-Wagen, finally I saw this shiny interesting SUV. This is the new Mercedes G-Wagen 350 CDi model covered with 24-carat of gold. I have no idea why they did something like this but it looks interesting and catching lots of attention.

Gold Mercedes G-Wagen is powered by a 3-lt turbo diesel engine produces 210 PS of power and 540 Nm of torque, and coupled with 7G-Tronic Plus automatic gearbox. You can have all types of safety and luxury features with this new G-Class.

However, there is one contradiction with gold G-Wagen! Why do you want a gold covered G-Wagen with a diesel engine. If you can afford covered the car with gold, I am sure you can afford to fuel the tank with petrol instead of diesel :)

And when I saw this car, I remembered the song of Amr Diab Nour Alain.

Goodwood Festival of Speed: New Audi A3

New Audi A3 was presented during the Goodwood Festival of Speed last week. New A3 looks quite similar to previous model and unfortunately, has a similar face with Audi A1. Actually, new A3 looks like a bigger size A1. However, this new design creates a refreshed image and definitely will attract more people.

New Audi A3 is available with two petrol engines 1,4-lt TFSi (122 PS), 1,8-lt (180 PS) and one diesel 2-lt TDi (150 PS). Double clutch S-Tronic automatic is also available.

Goodwood Festival of Speed: Bentley SUV EXP 9F

Bentley EXP 9F is the new SUV from Bentley. EXP 9F receive many criticism from journalists and bloggers. Some people love, some people hate it. And for quite long time, I was expecting to see EXP 9F and hopefully, I saw it on Goodwood Festival of Speed.

And I can say one thing, Bentley EXP 9F looks interesting. The front of EXP 9F has many similar design bits from Bentley Arnage and Mulsanne but, it does not reflect any SUV characteristics. The tyres are huge. Interior of EXP 9F is best the SUV interior on market, I don’t think that any brand can offer more luxury in an SUV more than EXP 9F. Interior is extremely well done!

Bentley EXP 9F still reminds me Range Rover Sport from rear side. I checked the EXP 9F in Goodwood Festival of Speed couple of times from the sides and I found it similar to Range Rover Sport. The rear of EXP 9F is not that good. Unfortunately, I didn’t like it! It could have been better. The tailgate’s curve angle should have been steeper.

Overall, Bentley has a very high bar of design refinement and quality. Unfortunately, this new SUV EXP 9F could not jump high from that high bar. Therefore, many people were disappointed with the Bentley’s SUV attempt EXP 9F. When a car company offers very well designed cars, everyone expects to see better each time. On the other hand, many people criticised or loved the EXP 9F, did one thing in common! We all run after the Bentley EXP 9F to see with our eyes! Even though, some of us didn’t like it, but we all wanted to see. So, I cannot say Bentley did not achieve a success. Otherwise, I wouldn’t be travelling for more than three hours to see Bentley EXP 9F!
