What to wear with my Aston Martin Cygnet ?

I do know that Aston Martin is a very sexy car! But there is a minor issue with Cygnet, it is based on a Toyota iQ. The best looking small car with pathetic infrastructure, welcome real world :)

I really admire the work of Aston Martin design team, they have created the best looking small car from a Toyota, and I consider this as a great achievement!

A few hours ago, I have just seen the new pictures of Cygnet! And I assume that, it will be ladies the most favourite car :) Cygnet is offered by various paint jobs. You can have animal print, your favourite paint or anything else. It is totally unlimited! This is very good way to add a character to a car, and differentiate it on market. Cygnet seriously needs this!

Everyone knows, that’s a Toyota, but offering a unique character to each individual model will help people forget the Toyota factor hindered inside the body!

Anyway, after this unique paint job offering, I am pretty sure that, many ladies who never thought about the Cygnet will be yearning to own one with their favourite animal print. Why? Because, it will be matching with their hand bags and shoes ;) And you might see this kind of fashion photo in Vogue in near future :) Which shoes fits with your Cygnet best ! Cars are becoming part of fashion ;)

Smaller Engines, Higher Heels

Ten years ago, we had relatively different world! Google was not in our lives, we were using mobile phone just for talking, Subaru Impreza was looking very cool, turbo was something you could find in Impreza also, Adidas was not selling Porsche Design shoes in every shop, high definition TV was nothing, Wikipedia was not around us.
Year 2000 sounds very close but ten years passed just blink of an eye. We did not realize but our life dramatically changed with technology. Now we are searching everything from Google, we try to save our relationships with Google search, we communicate with Skype, we are shopping in huge malls, marketing turned into something very vital.
How I come to here? Again I will connect cars with fashion :) Ten years ago BMW 520i was producing 150 horsepower. Today VW announced the Polo GTi, which is producing 180 horsepower from 1,4lt turbo engine. Peugeot 308RCZ will have 1,6lt turbo engine with 220 horsepower. Ten years ago, Mercedes S320 was producing 220 horsepower from 3,2lt petrol engine.
Last summer; while my Cypriot friend was shopping. She was looking for high heeled shoes and she told me that ten years ago these shoes were not that high! I realized during last decade not only engine powers are raised, also heels’ of shoes are raised. Very interesting relation :) However shoes sizes did not downsized like engine! This is also another fact! Now engines are producing more power in small space :) So, ten years ago Yves Saint Laurent shoes had only ten centimetres of heels, now it has fifteen centimetres :)
By this interesting relation; I can definitely say, cars and fashion has influence on each other ;) But please do not try to attach turbo on cloths :)

Chau Har Lee, worth to look !

Every month I am reading many different magazines to find subject to relate with car :) It is sometimes quite hard but sometimes happens suddenly! This month’s Wallpaper magazine had something very interesting. Wallpaper is a design magazine, in some issues BMW was starring with Bangle’s interestingly designed car! Prize winner of Manolo Blahnik Competition by Chau Har Lee. When I saw her exquisite design of high heels, I wanted to check her website to see her other projects. I was trying to find something to relate with car :) However, what I have found was very interesting shoes design. As a car addicted person, it remained me something very unusual! Front of the shoes look very familiar to radiator grills. I am pretty sure that, except me nobody has ever thought like this. Just show me the only the front of this shoes and don’t mention about anything, I would guess it is a contemporary design concept may be influence by radiator grills.

Of course, my perception to design is not very good. Focusing on cars for long years, made me to perceive every kind of object like a part of a car! From ladies approach, Chau’s design will be loved! It is very obvious that, they would not associate shoes and car radiator like me but if Chau’s design caught a man’s attention and pursued to look for her other designs. Ladies would run after ;) Porsche Design is offering driver shoes for men, I think Chau can offer driver shoes for women ! Ladies are not driving addictive but there are many of them are driving ;)

Buying Maserati is like buying uncomfortable and charming high heels for ladies

When I first saw the Masearti GranTurismo in London, I was shocked with its design. The aggressive look and curvely lines made it very unique. As its designer said, a car should both have feminine and muscular lines! And GranTurismo have them both. The front wheel arches are reflecting the female side and the aggressive front is reflecting the muscular side. When it is compared with rivals like Mercedes CL, Ferrari 612, Aston Martin DB9; GranTurismo can be considered as the best looking GT car! Its uniqueness does not end up in design. It has a very special automatic gearbox. GranTurismo S is equipped with double clutch high tech transmission and GranTurismo S Automatic is coming with a proper automatic gear box. And there is nothing unusual with these. The unusual thing is the new Automatic gearbox’s ability to handle high revs. As the automatic gearboxes are transferring energy by hydraulic, it has some limitations. Automatic gearboxes cannot able to handle more than 6800rpm but Maserati did something very unusual and increased this physical limit to 7200rpm. Even the Mercedes McLaren SLR cannot be achieved this performance!
Despite the exquisite design of GranTurismo it has some drawbacks. Matter of fact, Maserati does not have very good reputation in reliability. During last couple of years, Maserati’s quality significantly improved but the brand still has that image. In addition; when the GranTurismo first introduced, it had a very funny problem! When you put into reverse with its lazy gearbox which is not available anymore, the car first moves forwards and moves reverse! It was mentioned in CAR Magazine and it was really pity. They did great design and the transmission doesn’t even know the meaning of reverse. Hopefully, Italian threw that gearbox into trash and it is all history.
Despite its reliability question marks in my mind, I would definitely buy this car if I had the money! I know buying a Maserati is risky, may be this risky character of Maserati is more attractive than other cars. If this blog is being read by a lady, I can summarize the issue like this; Maserati is a hurting high heels (Picture; Giuseppe Zanotti) but it looks great and you look great. You know that, if you buy those shoes, you will suffer but you bought it already ;) I remember this from my friend Andri. She liked a high heels and they were not very comfortable and she bought them :) I would do the same with GranTurismo, but the minor problem is the price tage ;)

The Highest Lamborghini

I am sure that some of you think that, this article is about Lamborghini’s new SUV or it is about the first sport SUV LM002. As the LM002 is the first sport SUV, Lamborghini likes to introduce new products to market. And until now, LM002 was the tallest Lamborghini ;)
Today while I was searching for Porsche Design shoes, I found out something very interesting! Lamborghini High Heels with carbon fibre heels. These shoes look like, Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera is exposed to radiation and turned into shoes. As you could see from the picture, they look same as Gallardo. And hopefully they are concept, this means you cannot buy them from stores. I am pretty sure that some ladies are sad with this news :)
From a different perspective; these shoes are reflecting Lamborghini design very accurately. But, from the other perspective (womens’ side), I have never met a woman who want to buy a Lamborghini High Heels! Properly there is no women exist who want to buy them. If they produce these shoes, most probably it will cost fortune and ladies could find better brands with better looking shoes with less handling :)
So, we could say that if you want to design a product to women; try to avoid carbon fibre and cars ;)
Superleggera means, super light. I am pretty sure that shoes are very light with their carbon fibre heels!
Important notice: My friend Gulgun liked this shoes and she told that “she could buy them”. So there is a demand Lamborghin, go produce it :)

Mini Beachcomber is like open toe boots!

I have some doubts about the Mini’s product extension strategy. As the automotive industry is suffering serious problems and consumers are still not feel safe, therefore it may not be a good time to extend the product range. On the other hand, consumers’ obsessions with Mini emerged a question in my mind. Should Mini use it full potential and capture as much as market share? And avoid being exclusive! Being exclusive is one of the key elements of luxury goods suggested by J.N. Kapfrerer. As we could see from their concept models, Mini wants to capture every kind of consumers and move from niche to kitch!
Beachcomber model is promising “unique standard of driving pleasure” with no door, no top; actually nothing at all. As you could see from its chunky tyres, this is light weight SUV or in their term crossover, which you can off road “safely”. And when you wish to have extra safety (I think nobody is looking for that!) you just put the door into their places. They defined this as flexible protection!
I think while the designers discussing about this concept vehicles, they evaluate the world from a different perspective. From their concept vehicle, we could see that they suggested, there is no such a thing called accident and side impact. And door are fashion items on cars :)
When I see this concept crossover, I remembered one of my friend’s comment about contemporary boots in luxury brands. They are sold as boots but they have nothing to keep your feet warm. Of course, boots are not for winter, they are for summer! And from the same perpective, this concept vehicle is not offering anything to keep you warm inside.
I admire different design concepts but please be rational, who is going to buy a car with no doors! And how are you planning to pass from side impact crash test? As you don’t have proper doors. Yes, our target group will not push that hard with this car. Probably they won’t even crash or rollover ;)
One suggestion; when you buy this crossover or whatever it is, buy Givenchy open toe boots with them. They will definitely fit with each other :)

Christian Louboutin Limited Edition

Yes, this is a woman shoes brand. But it has very distinctive character, the red soles. And many women are willing own one pair of them. Even though, during the economic crisis, woman shoes sales did not face any problem!
So, why don’t any car brands offer a limited edition Louboutin series? I know it is risky, because car is muscular! And woman shoes are definitely feminine. However ladies are also buying cars and also buying shoes. Then, Ferrari California or Aston Martin V8 can offer totally black painted car with red paint underneath the body. Red paint should have nano technology to avoid scratches for long time.
