Rolls-Royce Ghost in Details

Rolls Royce Ghost, for some people it is the cheaper Rolls Royce based on a BMW 7-Series. However, that’s not the truth. In order to see the difference between the Rolls Royce Phantom and Ghost, I visited the HR Owen Mayfair London dealer of Rolls Royce. My usual place for the London trips!

Rolls Royce Ghost is a proper Rolls Royce with a relatively smaller in dimension and sporty character on driving. I want to justify the smaller in dimension statement, Rolls Royce Ghost is huge! If I consider the Rolls Royce Phantom as a castle, Rolls Royce would be cathedral. Ghost is more focused on driven by yourself rather than driven by the chauffer.

Interior of Rolls Royce Ghost is what you expect from a Rolls Royce for precision in details and what you expect from a BMW state-of-art technology. The good thing with Rolls Royce Ghost, you have all the technology as such as the safety systems, 8-speed automatic transmission and user-friendly navigation system with exceptional luxury and comfort.

As usual, Rolls Royce Ghost features eight-zone climate control. Climate control of Ghost is divided into rear and front and they are divided into upper and lower section. Basically, you can have 28 degrees for your feet and 16 degrees for your face, and you will end up sick :) Eight-zone climate control is a very nice toy to play with and try to not catch cold. And all the climate control is control by knobs to reflect Rolls Royce tradition.

Inside the Rolls Royce Ghost, you will not suffer any lack of light, because every single section of the Ghost is illuminated with LED lights.  If you are bored with the interior lights or climate control, you can play with seat adjustment for each seat inside the Ghost. All seats feature memory function and every single section are controlled by button, heating and ventilation is available as well.

Another nice feature of the Rolls Royce Ghost is the air suspension adjustment, the system adjusts the stiffness of the suspension according to which place you seat at the rear passenger seats.

Lastly, Ghost features best toy! Self-closing rear doors, by pushing a single button inside the cabin, you can close your door without disturbing your comfort.

Rolls Royce Ghost is expensive but it does worth the price. And go for the extended wheel base for better journey experience.

Bugatti Veyron Super Sport, 1200 HP from London and Ready to Buy: €2.1 Million

Bugatti Veyron Super Sport, the most powerful Bugatti ever produced. And quite rare! Super Sport is powered by an 8-lt quad-turbo petrol engine with 1200 HP and 1500 Nm of torque. These figures are right, I didn’t make any typo. And Bugatti Super Sport needs only 2.5 seconds to reach 100 km/h (62 mph) with the top speed of 415 km/h (258 mph).

Top speed is limited because, tyres only last less than 60 km and fuel tanks lasts no more than 10 minutes! Basically, if you can reach the top speed of Veyron Super Sport, you cannot go for long.

And you can buy one Bugatti Veyron Super Sport from HR Owendealer in Mayfair, London. It is only for £1.7 million or €2.1 million or $2.7 million. At any current, Veyron Super Sport costs a fortune to buy and fortune to run. Four-tyre set costs around £25,000 (€30,000 or $40,000). But Veyron has its own demand. Probably, it is already gone from the HR Owen dealer.

And the Veyron Super Sport on the photos are set in Speed mode by its special Speed key. For that reason, it is very close to ground and the rear air brake / spoiler is deployed.

Ferrari FF: Probably The Best Ferrari

Ferrari FF, the four-seat and four-wheel hatchback inspired Ferrari. From my definition, Ferrari FF does not sound that charming and when you see the press photos, the tendency to love this Ferrari vanishes very quickly. I used to be supporting the idea of ignoring Ferrari FF as the first Ferrari. FF was a four-seat, four-wheel drive, hatchback inspired Ferrari that cannot be called a Ferrari. But I was wrong!

Last week, I visited the HR Owen’s new Ferrari dealer in Knightsbridge, Ferrari  Atelier! And they had the Ferrari FF! It was my first time with the FF and I was expecting something really disappointing from every aspect. But I was wrong!

Unfortunately, the press photos of Ferrari FF in red does not emphasise the lines and you cannot see the depth of the details on FF. In my opinion, if you are planning to buy a Ferrari FF, go for a different colour than the red. Don’t worry a Ferrari is always a Ferrari regardless of its colour.

Ferrari FF does look definitely different from the Ferrari models. You can easily identify the GT character and spacious interior before you get inside. The interior is high quality as you expected and you have the all Ferrari toys, which you expected to see! Seats are really comfortable with the heating and ventilation option and memory function. Steering wheel is adjusted electrically with memory function.

The back seats are not as spacious as a four-door large sedan but they offer plenty of legroom for a Ferrari. It may not be that comfortable for long journeys but still it is impossible to accommodate two people at the rear seats.

The boot is the main handicap of Ferraris. However, FF offers plenty of space at the boot and rear seats can be folded! I guess this is the first time in a Ferrari. And with folded rear seats, there is a huge loading space!

And lastly, I like Ferrari FF because it is not designed to be a posing car. Someone who doesn’t know cars very well may not realise that, it is the latest Ferrari. Basically, Ferrari FF gives you the opportunity to be stealth without sacrificing the experience of a Ferrari.

Ferrari FF vs. Bentley Continental GT ? This is a very tough question! I may go for a FF and keep a Continental GT at the garage :)

Ferrari FF is powered by 6.2-lt V12 engine with 660 HP and 683 Nm of torque. Only needs 3.7 seconds to reach 100 km/h (62 mph) with the top speed of 335 km/h (208 mph). Engine is coupled with 7-speed double clutch pedal shift automatic gearbox. And a special four-wheel drive system that does not kill the pleasure.

If you can afford to buy one, go for it ;) I didn’t have chance to drive it but I am sure that it will be an amazing experience.

And thank you very much to HR Owen Ferrari Atelier for the hospitality.

Bugatti Veyron Super Sport from London

Bugatti Veyron Super Sport is the most powerful Bugatti on planet, thanks to its 1200 HP and 1500 Nm of torque. Capable of reaching more than 415 km/h (258 mph) and needs only 2.5 seconds to reach 100 km/h (62 mph).

And this lunatic car is now available in HR Owen London dealer for less than £2,000,000! Honestly, I really don’t know the real price but if you are a potential Bugatti customer, you will not struggle to pay seven-digit price tag :)

And don’t ask me why the seat if outside, I have no idea :) And there two Bugatti Veyrons at HR Owen dealer now :)

Lamborghini Track Day in UK by HR OWEN

Lamborghini Track Day in Millbrook, UK done HR Owen. This sounds very tempting and make anyone very jealous but don’t worry I am from the same crowd with you, I just experienced the Lamborghinis from the pictures.

Even though, I never had a chance to drive a Lamborghini, I can imagine the feeling of the acceleration. It is not that hard to imagine the Aventador performance, V12 engine with 700 PS and 2.9 seconds to reach 100 kph (62 mph) and top speed of 350 kph. With these figures, you can imagine and feel the Aventador without even driving one.

Lamborghini UK (HR Owen) exhibited very unique models of the Lamborghini brand all over London. Unfortunately, I did not have opportunity to visit this amazing exhibition to see Lamborghini heritage from the Miura to Aventador.
Hopefully, HR Owen released a YouTube video from the exhibition. People who missed this event like me should not miss this video.
The cars shown in the exhibition are; 350GT, Miura SV, Countach 25th, Diablo 6.0 SE, Murcielago LP650-4 Roadster, Aventador.LP700-4.

Bentley Brooklands Coupe

Bentley Brooklands, I know it is not on production at the moment and it creates perception of a mobile British Museum, thanks to its design. Brooklands is the coupe of version Arnage sedan (Not in production), despite its conservative design, it features state-of-art technology under the skin.

Bentley Brooklands is powered by a 6.7-lt V12 petrol engine produces 537 PS of power and 1050 nm of torque. 1050 nm of torque means, it touch the throttle gently, you can burn the tyres so easily! This is enormous level of torque and turns long journey as comfortable as possible. High level of torque at 3250 rpm means, Bentley Brooklands does not need to shift gears during the acceleration and this avoids unnecessary body rolls. Basically, if you are driving Bentley Brooklands on 4th gear and wish to accelerate, Brooklands will not downshift the gearbox and keep accelerating seamlessly, thanks to 1050 nm of torque.

Last note, Bentley Brooklands does have an aerial antenna. I have no idea why, but I really don’t mind!

This Bentley Brooklands is a second hand at HR Owen Bentley dealer in London. It costs around £200,000. I took these photos 21thMay, 2012, so it might be sold at the moment.
