Salon Privé Chelsea, London 2023

I attended Salon Privé this year and was worried I would be late, but my timing was perfect – I arrived just after the rain. Although the show was a bit wet, it didn’t stop people from attending.

The most iconic cars of this year’s event were the Ferrari F40 and F50. I have to admit, I am a bit biased towards these cars because they are rare and very hard to come by. Not only are the F40 and F50 limited in numbers, but they are also difficult to drive.

Like the previous year, I visited Anna-Louise Felstead’s stand, and as always, she had amazing paintings.

Ferrari introduced the soft-top version of the Ferrari Roma by HR Owen, called the Roma Spider. The final version of the Aston Martin DBS 770 Ultimate was also on display, marking the end of an era for V12 Aston Martins (except for the SUV).

Anyway, there were so many cars at the event. Salon Privé is the best car show in London, and you shouldn’t miss it next year.

Autosport International 2023

Autosport International is back in 2023, three years after its last appearance at NEC, Birmingham. I am excited to see the show this year and the return of cars and models.

I have been attending Autosport since 2012, and the last three years were a significant break.

As expected, the show was amazing. There were new companies, models, and exciting new motorsport technologies, particularly electric vehicle racing cars. I anticipate seeing more electric vehicles in future Autosport shows.

By the way, I don’t know the story behind that Lamborghini Huracan.

Why I Can’t Like Lamborghinis

Yesterday, I was walking past the Lamborghini dealer in London, and I realised I had never liked a Lamborghini except for the Miura, and that was all. All my life, I never desired any of their cars. They are simply too loud, extremely impractical, no racing heritage, too much bling – and the list goes on.

Even though I am not a fan of Ferraris, I still really admire the technology transferred from Formula 1 to road cars. Ferrari isn’t a brand I would like to drive, but I like their cars. On the other hand, Lamborghini cars have one function, namely: making too much noise and annoying everyone around you.

I am sure they accelerate quickly and handle great (thanks to lower central gravity) but other than that, a Lamborghini usually has the previous generation Audi interior (Gallardo) and doesn’t feel as unique as a Ferrari.

I probably have this feeling due to Lamborghini’s actual business heritage – in agriculture. When I found out at the age of 11 (1992) that Lamborghini was not originally a car company, I was extremely shocked! I guess that moment created a new neural pathway that prevented me from liking the Lamborghini, and as they produced ever louder and blingier cars, things did not go well.

Agent Provocateur SS17 / How to Drive on Sand and Wear High Heels on The Beach

Agent Provocateur has finally resolved the two major problems in our lives for the SS 2017 season! Driving on the beach and wearing heels on the beach. These two problems are the reflections of a person’s ability to manage weight over a loose surface. With cars, if you drive stupidly, you just sink into the sand. With heels, if you put your too much weight on your heels, you also sink into the sand.

What to do? We haven’t managed to figure it out properly until now. According to Agent Provocateur, to drive on the beach you have to have a Lamborghini Contach or a Ferrari 512bbi. Each has massive wide tyres that will spread the weight on the sand and help you to drive easily. And if you wear block heels (they tried stilettos as well), the wider heels will spread your weigh on the sand and allow you to walk easily.

Actually, no! Sand is loose surface and it is not that easy to cope with. Anyway, we love Agent Provocateur, and thumbs up for the great campaign.

Bentley Continental GT3 R and Lamborghini Huracan at NEC Birmingham

Few weeks ago, I had the chance to see the Bentley Continental GT3 R and latest Lamborghini, Huracan. Where I saw them? Not in front the Doncaster Hotel, I saw in Birmingham. Bentley and Lamborghini dealer of Birmingham hold an event last week at NEC. It was a unique opportunity to see these two new cars at the same time.

The event took at NEC but not inside the venue, it was outside but inside a inflatable marquee. Actually, it was a very unique technology. The marquee was made from a special fibre similar to airbags and filled with air. The advantage of this material is the opportunity to colour with a light source.

The other interesting thing was the ice sculptures. Actually, when I first saw them, I thought they were made from plastic but they were real ice. By a cooling system the ice sculptures were able to stand still without melting during the whole event and created a very sophisticated atmosphere.

Bentley GT3 R? It is based on the Continental but lighter, more powerful and faster. Actually, I liked GT3 R more than the traditional Continental GT. GT3 R offers the Le Mans feeling. Unfortunately, GT3 R is a very limited edition and will not available to mass production. Actually, GT3 R would offer a unique taste to Continental family and capture a new type of customers. Porsche 911 offers GT3 version and not limited. I think Bentley should consider this option in future.

Lamborghini Huracan, it is here to replaced the aging Gallordo. And similar to Gallardo, Huracan’s deisng does not offer very bold and distinctive lines. Similar to Gallordo, it is not a huge car and easier to get inside than an Aventador. The Huracan has two new party piece; first one the lots of buttons on steering wheel. It is obvious that, Lamborghini followed the footsteps of Ferrari while placing on functions on the steering wheel. Personally, I am not fan of this. Placing many buttons on the steering wheel may increase the sportive character but in daily traffic, it can be quite hard to control all these functions. But still, I would love to try it.

Another nice thing with the Huracan is the high definition, instrument panel. Unfortunately, automotive industry is moving towards to full digital instrument panel and removing all analog dials. This provides more room to place information on the instrument panel and customised them more easily. I still like the old dials. I can see that Lamborghini decided to design the Huracan for every day use. For the VW, Lamborghinis were only be driven if you are planning to go forward and never reverse! However, those days are gone people want to drive their supercar to everywhere. And this it the answer to market! Also Huracan is a all-wheel drive car, if you replace the tyres with winter tyres, you can drive the Huracan all year long.

Huracan definitely offers a unique alternative to Ferrari 458. And still all Lamborghinis are built by hand, there are no robots during the manufacturing process. The main reason for this, Lamborghini does not manufacture thounsands of car. So, it is more profitable to manufacture this way and enables to keep the exquisite soul of Lamborghini.

And thanks to Violent Blondes for the great DJ performance for the whole night.

Why You Should Avoid Valet Parking? Lamborghini Aventador is Smashed by the Valet Parking in Monaco

Why you should avoid valet parking? Lamborghini Aventador is smashed by the valet parking in Monaco. This is a very usual incident, valet parking gently touches the car to another one. But this time, a Lamborghini Aventador is smashed to a Toyota RAV4. Actually this is a very gentle and light touch, however it was Lamborghini Aventador and it seems like the front bumper should be replaced.

I assume the price of the front bumper of the Aventador would be more than the full price of a Fiat 500. Next time you gave the keys to a valet, think again! Anyway, just park your car by yourself, valet parking is only for posing.

The Last Lamborghini Gallardo

Lamborghini Gallardo production ended! I want to say, finally Lamborghini stop making Gallardo. It has been ten years since it was first revealed and many things have changed since that time. Due to its very long product lifecycle, Gallardo lost it competitiveness among others.  Despite its age, Gallardo managed to reach 14,022 customers. And this makes the Gallardo the highest sales figures ever achieved by a single vehicle.

The last Lamborghini Gallardo is a Rosso Mars Gallardo LP 570-4 Spyder Performante. It is powered by a V10 5-lt engine with 570 HP.

Two Lamborghini Aventadors in London | Nothing Really Special

Lamborghini Aventador, I wrote about this car couple of times but did not have chance to share the photos. Hopefully, I was a bit lucky recently. HR Owen placed two Lamborghini Aventador at their dealer on South Kensington, London.

Aventador is not something ergonomically designed, it is really hard to get inside the car. You sit very low, but Aventador is the only car that looks like a stealth jet fighter. Neither Ferrari nor Aston Martin offer a unique character like this.

Would I prefer an Aventador over Ferrari F12? I think yes. But I will regret it everyday.

Four Lamborghini Aventadors from London

Lamborghini Aventador, it is one of the very rare cars on market nowadays.  Many people grab their mobile phone to a single photo of the Aventador, even if they spotted it only for one second. However, I was a bit lucky yesterday. I saw four Lamborghini Aventadors at HR Owen London dealer. And they were not planning to anywhere, so I had the freedom to take some photos.

These Aventadors are powered by a 6.5-lt engine with 700 HP, 690 Nm of torque. And less than three seconds are enough to reach 100 km/h! Top speed is limited with your life expectation :)

And again thanks to HR Owen dealers for their hospitality. I promise, I will buy a car from HR Owen one day.

And I used olloclip wide angle lens for these photos.

The Best Looking Car at Night from the Rear-End

Cars at night, here is the photo of the supercars with their tail lights at night. BMW Z4 is not a supercar but I have no idea how it ends up on this list. And also, I really wonder why there is no McLaren and Jaguar. I am definitely sure that, both of these brands look fantastic at night.
