The New Range Rover Sport // Larger Size Evoque

The new Range Rover Sport is revealed recently and I haven’t written about it. I know the new Range Rover Sport is on everywhere but I didn’t have any motivation to write about it. The main reason is the design similarity with the Range Rover Evoque. Evoque became the epic success of Land Rover and consequently, this financial success influenced the design philosophy of the upcoming Land Rover vehicles. That’s why Range Rover Sport looks like a larger size Evoque.
Personally I don’t like this type of design similarities among different vehicles in the same brand. However, the financial pressure to keep the momentum going causes this problem. Companies don’t want to lose their financially successful design philosophy. As a result of this, the new vehicles looks like previous vehicles. 
The new Range Rover Sport is 420-kg lighter than the preceding model and made from aluminium and it weights only 2.1-tonne! I consider as a great success. As a result of this diet, Range Rover Sport will a better handling and more competitive for the new BMW X5!
New Range Rover Sport is powered by two petrol and two diesel engines; 3-lt Supercharged V6 with 340 HP / 5-lt Supercharged V8 510 HP and 3-lt TDV6 258 HP / SDV6 292 HP / 4.4-lt 339 HP. All engines are coupled with 8-speed automatic gearbox.

New Range Rover Experience

New Range Rover Experience! I decided to give another chance to the new Range Rover. As I expected my opinions did not change after the seconds visit. I still find it a bit interesting and needs more technological improvement. Especially, after the new Mercedes S-Class and upcoming Audi A8 and BMW 7-Series. The benchmark for high technology in automotive shifts into a different level. 
And unfortunately, Range Rover does not offer these technologies. Such as, active lane assist with steering wheel correction. This is available in Ford Kuga but not in new Range Rover. However, not all the Range Rover customers are worried with these features. They want more luxury and glamour.
Interior of the new Range Rover is luxury and offers massage and individual rear seats. Also, very well made. I couldn’t find any mistake! However, I still find the exterior of Range Rover similar to a luxury fashion accessory like a sunglass. New Range Rover is too shinny for a Range Rover and lost its off road DNA from after this new design.
People like me always complain about radical changes, I really want to see the tough character of the Range Rover instead of Bond Street friendly look. However world is changing and design language is changing as well. It is impossible to satisfy everyone!
There is always a demand to Range Rover, because it is Range Rover. Status of achievement! You cannot have this psychological feeling with other SUVs. If you are successful, you should buy a Range Rover, thus other people will recognise your success.
If you are successful and do not wish to announce it, buy the Mercedes M-Class!
My suggestion for the new Range Rover: Replaces the screens with a higher density screens. Design a new user interface. Offer new pre crash technologies. And better plastic. The rest of the vehicle is really good!
Lastly, don’t get influence by my comments. New Range Rover is a very good car and visit a dealer before making a decision. Don’t be lazy and sit in front a screen to judge a car :)

Personalised New Range Rover with a Minor Revision

Personalised new Range Rover. Many people love to personalise or customise their cars, especially the expensive ones like the new Range Rover. So, I decided to join this trend and did a minor revision, which creates a personalised look to Range Rover.
I removed the air vent inspired side vent design items from the front door of the Range Rover and made it flat like the previous model. This small revision creates a unique look and moves the design of the new Range Rover closer to form follows function design philosophy. Also creates a cleaner look in the door sides, from rear-end to front-end.
I am definitely sure this personalisation can be done by any workshop very quickly :)

New Range Rover Sport Photos are Here! Spotted!!!

New Range Rover Sport photos are here. A few hours ago the photos of new Range Rover Sport was leaked to internet. As I mentioned in my previous posts, new Range Rover Sport looks like a fat or larger or under steroids Evoque! Land Rover created the Range Rover Evoque and everyone loved, and now Land Rover is trying to extend the Evoque design philosophy to rest of their vehicle range to keep their sales momentum at high level.
In the meantime, Land Rover risks the exquisite design of Evoque and is getting to closer to “too common”, “became too boring” border! Repeating the same design items in many vehicles hinders the risk of losing sales! It is a risky decision and now Land Rover is doing quite well with this risk taking, but for how long?
Honestly, new Range Rover Sport look really nice. Definitely a fresh product to sporty SUV market :)

New Range Rover from Mayfair, London

New Range Rover, designed by the inspiration of luxury fashion store in Mayfair, London. Lost the appearance that connect the off and on road driving in the same vehicle. Removes the real air vents to cool down the engine and introduces them as a design element. These are the words, which I have used since the new Range Rover was revealed by Land Rover. Many people also shared the same feelings with me for the new Range Rover. New look of Range Rover created an impression of an expensive handbag with robust design. 
These words were mentioned by me before I see the new Range Rover’s interior. Yesterday, I visited the Stratstone Land Rover dealer Mayfair, London. And there was the new Range Rover in black (now my favourite colour) in Vogue SE specification. Range Rover Vogue SE means, the car features nearly each of the optional equipment and literally there is nothing you can add more.
The black new Range Rover was fitted with 21-inch ‘off road’ friendly tires. And this improved the image luxury handbag dilemma. However, this did not prevent me to have look inside the cabin. And I can say one thing, cabin of the new Range Rover is a real improvement. The quality of plastic, the quality leather, the quality of craftsmanship is definitely in a new dimension. Unlike the exterior, interior of new Range Rover is new.
I am quite good at finding problems inside the cabin, wobbling plastic, huge gap between the parts, defect on leather. However, despite my all efforts interior of new Range Rover did not have any problems except one thing. The navigation screen.
I told this many times, the navigation screen of Range Rover does not produce high quality image, screen is not clear and you get a blur screen all the time. In terms if IT world, it is defined by pixel per inch (PPI). Apple offers one of the highest PPI index on their Retina display products (iPhone 5 PPI: 326). Increasing PPI results with clearer picture and higher quality. Anyone can understand the improvement on pixel per inch, you don’t need to be a nerd or engineer to identify the difference. 
Is it expensive? If you can have a Retina display iPad, this means it is not expensive to have one inside the new Range Rover! And I am sure that the customer will not change their mind if the price of Range Rover increase by €200 due to crystal clear navigation screen. Also, improvement on the navigation screen quality will match with the harmony of the interior.
The rest of the cabin of new Range Rover offers whatever you thing in terms of luxury. Memory seats with massage, heating and ventilation for each passenger. Panoramic glass roof offers a very pleasant environment inside the cabin. Ergonomics are quite good. Overall, there is basically nothing to worry about inside the cabin.
How it drives? I have no idea, I did not have chance to drive one. I am sure it is better thanks to lighter body.
My opinion, shall I buy one? For this interior, I would buy the new Range Rover and try not to look at it when I parked. Design of the new Range Rover is like ying and yan. Exterior and interior designs balance each other.

Can New Range Rover Do Off Road?

New Range Rover, the poshest SUV on market; resemble to expensive pair of high heels or bespoke handbag or tailored suit. Unfortunately, Range Rover lost its bad boy look and became a part of popular culture; shinny and fragile. When you first the see the new Range Rover, you never think it has the ability to do any type of off road.

New Range Rover gives the impression of drive on street of Mayfair, London with Tom Ford shoes and Louis Vuitton bag on the rear seats. And unfortunately, most of the people does this!

So the perception of Range Rover moved from real tough off road vehicle to real tough posing vehicle. However, this is not the truth. Underneath this fragile and post vehicle, a serious off road vehicle is lying.

And here is the proof from Land Rover USA! New Range Rover off road event in Utah. Keep in mind these Range Rovers are petrol powered and cannot provide the torque at the low-end, which helps in off road a lot. And tyres do not seem to be all terrain friendly.

What is a MILF? Land Rover Italia Answers!

What is MILF? Land Rover Italia created a new definition to legendary phrase. MILF first appeared on the American Pie 1 in year 1999. It was the nickname for the Stifler’s mom. Unfortunately, I cannot expand the whole definition here, you need to watch the footage from the American Pie 1.
After many years, Land Rover Italia redefined the MILF as Mountain I’d Like to Face. Here is the new definition of MILF and this is how you make a campaign go viral.

Land Rover Defender in Animation: Land Rover Italy

Land Rover Defender is one of the toughest proper SUV or four by four vehicle on the market. Defender looks simple and functional, does its job properly!
And recently Land Rover Italy created some videos that are representing the abilities of Land Rover Defender in four different funny animations. 
I really loved the sense of humour and the way Land Rover Italy showed the functionality of Defender in such a nice way.

Cars in James Bond Skyfall

James Bond Skyfall, I have just watched the movie and I wanted to write about the cars in the movie. Because, there are more cars placed in Skyfall that you imagine.
The list starts with Land Rover Defender and Audi A4. Then JaguarXJ as you expected, then we Range Rover as usual. China sequences starts with Mercedes S500 (S550 for US market) and the taxi was a Volkswagen Passat. And we saw Land Discovery 4 as police vehicles and as a normal vehicle. I totally forgot the wrecked Volkswagen Beetles in the Turkey.
The London Police was driving Kia Optima, Sportage and Opel/VauxhallAstra. I really don’t know whether the London Police drives Kia or not! And the fire trucks were Dennis, a British classic. Later on, Bond left the Jaguar XJ and moved away with the Aston Martin DB5.
If there are more cars, I will update the post later. It was quite hard to keep up with in the Skyfall :)
