New London Black Cab from Karsan at Motor Expo London

New London black cab, from Karsan. Last week, during my visit to Motor Expo London, I had chance to see the new candidate for London’s black cab from Karsan Concept V1. I assume you may not know the Karsan, so here some information. Karsan is a Turkish automotive manufacturing company working with many global partners. And recently, they have designed a full electric black cab for London.

I had the chance to experience the potential new London black cab! Interior is very spacious and thanks to glass roof, sunlight enters directly to inside and for UK weather conditions this is something really good! Karsan’s black cab is electric powered and can be charged from the station all around the London and also the turning circle is the same with the traditional London black cab. Lastly, the instrument panel is a digital screen like other car on the market. Personally, I couldn’t get use to this new full digital screen instrument panel, I still like the traditional dials!

Overall, I couldn’t find anything really to complain. And they also mentioned that the rear suspension is better than the existing London black cab. This is real plus. Moreover, similar to London black cab, Karsan’s black cab is only available as black cab! Like the other brands, Karsan is not selling this black cab as a passenger vehicle or to any other market. Unique to UK! My personal opinion about this black cab is the contemporary interpretation of the iconic black cab. Especially unique sales strategy emphasise this!

And I have no idea what is that YouTube button on the navigation screen :)

Audi S6 Avant from London

Audi S6 Avant. Avant means estate and estate means boring, thus Audi S6 is boring according to this assumption. But this is a theoretical assumption that does not represent the real world condition. Audi S6 Avant is not boring and it is an estate. This is a real contradiction when we talk about the super fast cars and their boot capacity.

Last week, I had chance to see the Audi S6 Avant at Audi’s newest London dealer. S6 Avant does not look boring or designed only for families. It does have a different type of charm despite its enormous boots space. If I had chance, I would definitely bought this S6 Avant right away.

The dynamic design of the Audi S6 hinders the dullness of the estate car. And you just ignore that ugly huge boot space. Also the interior quality of the S6 is class leading. Thanks to know-how transfer from Bentley for craftsmanship, Audi S6 offers the most precise interior on its segment. The materials, the stiffness of the knobs while turning and the sounds of the button clicks are the signals of the quality. These things do not change your driving experience but improves your experience inside the vehicle and represent the production quality.

Also, I cannot ignore the Google Maps navigation! It is Google Maps, we all know that it is the best navigation software on the market. And also the user interface is very easy to use and you don’t get lost. However, the pixel density of the navigation screen is not close enough to Apple’s Retina Display technology. I hope they will improve this.

Audi S6 Avant is powered by 4-lt TFSI petrol engine with 420 HP and 550 Nm of torque. Engine is coupled with 7-speed S-Tronic automatic gearbox. S6 Avant only needs 4.7 seconds to reach 100 km/h with the top speed of 250 km/h.

Dinosaurs in Louis Vuitton New Bond Street

Louis Vuitton New Bond Street store with dinosaurs. After the Jurassic Park, this is the closet encounter among human specie with the dinosaurs. The iconic Louis Vuitton store at New Bond Street in London features a very unique display with dinosaurs. This installation was inspired by the Natural History Museum in Paris. 
The oldest dinosaur is 290 million years old, Dimetrodon, Stegosaurus, Brachiosaurus, Velociraptor, Spinosaurus, T-Rex and their youngest cousin with 65 million years old Triceratops. They feature in golden skeleton in Louis Vuitton. Even if you are not interested on Louis Vuitton or fashion, this installation does worth a trip to see. The composition of Louis Vuitton handbags, human and the dinosaurs is a contradiction in natural science but beautiful in art.
For sure, many people are not interested on the dinosaurs and I want to jump to collection features on the dinosaurs. Speedy, Sofia Copolloa, Alma and Noe. These are the Louis Vuitton’s 2013 pre-fall collection.

Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport for #PinItForwardUK

Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport is probably the most powerful mass production open top car on this planet, and I took photos of this Veyron specially for #PinItForwardUK. Grand Sport is relatively slower than the Super Sport but still the 8-lt W16 engine develops 1001 HP, which is good enough to shake your internal ear and lost your sense of direction.

As the weather is getting warmer, for some people open top (convertible) cars become more vital than anything else. And they need something really fast! When you think about speed and uniqueness, there is nothing better than the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport.

If you are lucky, this Bugatti still available at HR Owen in London. But it may have been sold as well!

Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport is powered by an 8-lt W16 quad-turbo engine with 1001 HP and 1250 Nm of torque. Veyron needs less than 2.7 seconds to reach 100 km/h and only 2.3 seconds to stop from 100 km/h to standstill. The top speed is 407 km/h and if you are crazy enough you can stop Veyron from its top speed to stand still in less than 10 seconds. Probably your internal organ will change their places, so don’t try it! And Veyron needs 41.9lt/100 km petrol when you are driving in city.

Purple Bentley Continental GTC in HR Owen (Jack Barclay), London

Purple Bentley Continental GTC (Convertible) in purple at HR Owen, London! The purple colour may look great on clothes, coats and some cases with shoes, however a purple car is something that you cannot see everyday life. There are some reasons for that, firstly car manufacturers do not offer purple and you cannot prefer this colour. Secondly, some cars were offered in purple but it wasn’t the perfect choice for second value and the quality of the paint was not that good.

However, when the case is Bentley the rules of the game are different. Bentley clients are not extremely sensitive second hand value. Thus, those people are not bothered with the colour of their car by the second hand value. This segment is focused on bespoke vehicle, not mass production!

So, the purple Bentley Continental GTC offers the perfect uniqueness during the summer time. Despite the fact that, it is really hard to drive a car topless in UK but many people love to buy open top cars, just to enjoy the few days of sunshine in whole year.

My person opinion about this purple Bentley, it does look good! I am serious on this, purple colour does not look that shinny or disturbing, the tone of the colour so well defined.  And also that’s a Bentley Continental GTC V8! 4-lt V8 twin-turbo petrol engine with 507 HP and 660 Nm of torque and the engine is coupled with 8-speed automatic gearbox, which is capable of jumping gears up and down beyond your imagination. GTC V8 only needs 5 seconds to reach 100 km/h and top speed is not! It is 301 km/h. I really don’t know why it is 301 km/h instead of 300 km/h.

Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport 16.4, the ultimate summer sports car with 1001 HP. Basically, Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport is an open top version with no drawback in performance. Still offers 1001 HP of power with 1250 Nm of torque with the top speed of 407 km/h. And only needs less than 2.7 seconds to reach 100 km/h. The advantage of Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport is, you can feel the nice warm air around you when you speeding up. Try not to drive open top in cold weather.

Now you can have a Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport 16.4 in super sexy yellow colour in HR Owen London dealer. The yellow paint is also applied to engine section as well! Yellow matches with Veyron quite well.

150 Years of London Undergrand (Tube): A Documentary from 1963

Yesterday, London celebrated the 150 years of the iconic transportation method by a steam powered train. I think many of you watched the footage or saw the photos. So, I did some YouTube research to watch something related with the London Tube and I found a documentary of London Tube.
London Tube documentary on YouTube was from 1963, 100 years of the London Underground. I really don’t whether it is available on DVD or Blu-ray. However, I embedded the video from the YouTube. If you have time, please watch and if you found an original copy, please buy it :)

Improved McLaren MP4-12C at London Dealer

McLaren MP4-12C is the second car wholly designed and manufactured by McLaren after McLaren F1. MP4-12C does not have a very charming and marketing friendly model name but that’s the only drawback. MP4-12C is designed by Frank Stephenson and you can watch my interview with him about MP4-12C on YouTube.
Last week, I visited the McLaren’s London dealer in Knightsbridge, placed under the most expensive apartment One Hyde Park. Like the factory, McLaren dealer is designed with perfection. And they show the improved version of MP4-12C with a special colour, Kiwi Green.
This MP4-12C is no different than the previous one, actually only minor things have changed and except vehicle rise system and door button, the rest of the software upgrade can be applied to existing owners with no extra cost.
The revised MP4-12C has more power, 625 HP without any revision on engine or exhaust, just a new software. New gearbox software to improve gear shifts. There is a new lightweight wheel design. Software update on in-car entertainment system to improve sound system and experience.
Unfortunately, physical door button is not available to apply to existing vehicles due to technical issues. But, it is better than the touch sensitive button. And I was sure that, McLaren is going to replace iPhone style door opening system. It was too sensitive for adverse weather conditions. Another cleaver feature that cannot be applied is the rising vehicle for speed bumps and adverse road conditions. This is a must for fast cars!
And McLaren is going to keep developing the MP4-12C and offer these updates with no extra cost to existing owners. Because, McLaren is a Formula 1 company and each season the F1 car is developed all the time. Therefore, McLaren transferred this philosophy mass production road car, MP4-12C to reflect McLaren DNA.
