Small details makes the differences

I am sure many of you will say, why someone would write something like this! For that reason, I will try to make an introduction to break your biases :)
When we buy something, especially something which is very expensive, we want to buy the most original product of that brand. I mean there should be some original touches in that product to be differentiated from the others. And many brands are very good at doing this!
When you ask a lady, what you call original! She would probably say Christian Louboutin shoes, because they have red soles! These red soles made accidentally and it became trademark for Louboutin, honestly it is saving his business also! Easier to differentiate from other :) So, Louboutin shoes are always a desire for ladies and they want to buy the most Louboutin one. When you read fashion magazines, they will be discussing about some particular models which are never be out of fashion, you can wear regardless of fashion trend. That is Pigalle model! And every detail in these shoes are attractive for ladies, because they are stylish !
Porsche 911 Turbo, an automotive perfection! From manufacturing plant to screen wipers, everything is in a perfect harmony. There is nothing irritating in that car, even the mosquito will not enter to a 911 Turbo to ruin this perfection. I wrote many thing about 911 Turbo but recently I discovered something very attractive on this car. Those are the wheel nuts! Yes, you did not read wrong. Because, this car only have one on each wheel. Unlike your normal car, 911 Turbo has the same style of wheel nuts which you can find in Formula 1 or Le Mans cars :) Even if you have a flat tyre, you will be replacing in a stylish way ;)

Addiction to boot by Mercedes and BMW

Mercedes and BMW have something in common; they love to put a boot into every car they produce. That’s not something unusual and people are looking for a boot in a car. However, boot is a very relative subject for cars. If you are planning to sell your car to families, you suppose to offer a boot which is big enough swallow everything inside. It is same for SUVs also, it should take everything inside :)
But you should not try to imply this mentality into cars with huge amount of horsepower or cars which are suppose to be remembered as fast car! BMW and Mercedes are the two very interesting car manufacturer which are trying to attach bigger boot as they create bigger horsepower. Especially Mercedes attaches a boot to every car except CLK GTR. SLR has a boot, SL has a boot, SLS AMG has a boot and E 63 Estate and BMW M5 are just boots nothing more. And those boots are huge, believe me. They are too big! I really wonder which customer is preferring a very powerful car based on its ability for Sunday family shopping.
If people care too much about boot size, nobody would buy a Ferrari or Porsche. They will be bankrupted due to lack of demand but they make huge amount money!
This situation can be summarized for ladies; boots are like handbags. It suppose to swallow everything inside but at the same time, it should be fashionable. You cannot be fashionable, if you are carrying a luggage with you all the time! It will take everything inside but it will looking extremely dull! You don’t choose handbags based on their ability to swallow things inside, you prefer for their design and their look. For fast cars, it is the same! Nobody cars about the boot size :)
Mercedes and BMW’s approach to fast car is like; Louis Vuitton’s attempt to integrate luggage and handbag together to make something very functional! If you are going to buy a Mercedes E63 AMG Estate or BMW M5 Estate car, you will be trying to buy a luggage handbag :)

Bugatti 16C Galibier and its friends

Bugatti recently revealed their four door sedan, Bugatti 16C Galibier. I think we should not say sedan to a car which is producing one thousand horsepower! When Bugatti puts this car on production, it will be the most powerful sedan has ever been produced. However Bugatti is not planning to produce 16C Galibier until Veyron is on production. Their plan is to produce Galibier after the Veyron is finished.

Recently, some people saw the Galibier near Molsheim, France (Bugatti HQ). However, I noticed something from the pictures. This car is looking very similar to BMW 5 GT and Porsche Panamera. Yes, these cars are just costing no more than a Bugatti gear lever but their similarity is very interesting. Like Veyron, Galibier has the identical Bugatti DNAs in its design but product extension strategies are obsessed, they started to look very similar to each other.

Therefore, I have posted the pictures of Porsche Panamera, BMW 5 GT and Bugatti 16C Galibier. Panamera is the best for price and performance! One thousand horse power is very exciting but price tag is so depressing :)

Spot the 911 differences in Louis Vuitton

Porsche 911 is the most iconic car which you can buy. 911 did not lost its soul and character more than forty years and it is the perfection of automotive. From the door handle to steering wheel, 911 is the top level of automotive engineering. Making the same car for more than forty years is not something very usual to see in automotive industry, especially a normal life cycle of a car is seven years. After that seven years, only the brand remains the same, the rest totally changes. But in 911, nothing has changed since it was first designed!
However, during last forty years marketing has changed! And we learned something called product range extension! This is helps to increase produce range by offering different kind of tastes, like Louis Vuitton is offering the same hand bag with different cover but they are the same! I am sure that if you ask Louis Vuitton, they can tell you one hundred different reasons why they are offering the same handbag with different looking! Interestingly, this is the same with Porsche 911. Now it has more than fourteen different types.
You can have 911 Carrera or Carrera 4 or Carrera S or Carrera 4S or Turbo or Turbo S or GT2 RS or GT3 or GT3 RS and this goes like that forever. You have to study for one month to memorize every single model! Like Louis Vuitton, it is a bit annoying. Because, Porsche is charging different prices for minor differences even the Ferdinand Porsche cannot realize those details.
I am sure, you can understand the difference in Nürburgring. Yes, all of us hang out in Nürburgring everyday! I wanted to find out the differences, but I didn’t go to Germany I just log onto their website. And I wanted to find out what are the differences of 911 GT2 RS, GT3 and GT3 RS!
Basically, they are all same. Designed for circuit, when you drive them in daily basis, your lungs will change their places with your kidneys. They are aimed to be light and to be fast. They are not offering much comfort and this will kill your back! Actually, I analysed their technical details but I don’t want to write them here. What I found out is, Porsche 911 GT2 RS is the best option. It is the fastest, the most economical, the lightest and the hugs trees with the lowest emission levels.
So if you are going to buy a hardcore Porsche 911, you don’t need to look for each model! Just buy the 911 GT2 RS which develops 620 horsepower, reaches 100 km/h in 3,5 seconds and top speed of 330 km/h! Who cares the other options ;) For Louis Vuitton, I think you should prefer the cheapest one, because they don’t offer any detail :)

Sakis Rouvas vs. Porsche 911

Couple of days ago I heard a music from Greek radio Sfera FM and it was Sakis Rouvas’s new song “Spase Ton Xrono” (I hope I wrote it correctly). Like everyone, I searched on YouTube to watch its video clip but instead of video clip, I found a live performance! That was fine but the interesting thing, the girls’ voice was stronger than the Sakis’s voice! I guess the audience is female and as far as I know whole Greek girls love Sakis, so even if he does not sing, they will shouting :) For those of you, who doesn’t know Sakis; he is a Greek musician, nearly every girls’ dream and has fourteen albums (If I am wrong, please correct me!).

Now let’s come to Porsche 911, you know 911 47 year old king!. As I always said; 911 is the ultimate, the best designed, the art of engineering, the exquisite, the sense of passion! That’s the best car on earth! If you have money, you must buy a 911 not a Cayenne or Boxster or other contemporary Porsche models. First you must buy 911 later on you can buy a contemporary Porsche. Sorry “must” grammar structure.
Anyway, you could understand how the 911 is making many people very excited. I can understand Greek girls love Sakis and how they get excited. Many 911 lover however don’t shout when we see a 911:)
Porsche knows this fact and they made a PR film about 911 and its charm!

Τώρα, ας έρθει να Porsche 911, το ξέρεις 911 47 χρόνων παλιά βασιλιάς!. Όπως πάντα έλεγε? 911 είναι το απόλυτο, το καλύτερο που αποσκοπούν, η τέχνη του μηχανικού, η εξαίσια, η αίσθηση του πάθους! Αυτό είναι το καλύτερο αυτοκίνητο στη γη! Εάν έχετε τα χρήματα, θα πρέπει να αγοράσετε ένα όχι 911 Cayenne ή Boxster ή άλλα σύγχρονα μοντέλα της Porsche. Πρώτα πρέπει να αγοράσετε 911 αργότερα μπορείτε να αγοράσετε ένα σύγχρονο Porsche. Συγγνώμη “πρέπει” δομή της γραμματικής.

The Glamour of Porsche Cayenne

Porsche Cayenne was a disastrous looking SUV when it was first revealed. It was sharing too much common with VW Touareg, lack of Porsche character and was not looking very nice either. And interestingly Porsche was offering rear and centre differential lock and low range gear box for an SUV which was supposed to design for high speed driving. Of course it was not Porsche’s decision, it was the decision by VW and they were technically the same SUV.
Despite these adverse points of Cayenne, it did not suffer any problem in sales figures. It was one of the most profitable cars of Porsche and that made it clear that many people don’t understand what 911 is! Now Cayenne has a new model, and it is the best looking SUV on market. Both in inside and outside! This new model wiped out the adverse parts of previous model and definitely offering a real Porsche SUV. Interior is sharing same bits from Panamera and that’s normal and I would rather prefer this than sharing with Touareg. The evolution did not end up here; Cayenne is no longer offering low range gearbox which was only adding more weight. But its off road ability did not vanquish, actually they
did something really clever.
New Cayenne is offering eight speed automatic gearbox, and the first gear was designed as low range gear for off road driving. This is very clever, nobody is driving in fourth or fifth gear on mountains and if they want to do this, they should buy something else. I know that this new technology might lower its ability to tow but please do not tow any stupid thing with Porsche. Just go and buy some other SUV.
This new Cayenne is the most charming, most sexy, most beautiful SUV on market. Forget the Range Rover, BMW X5 or Mercedes M Class. This is new Cayenne is offering you what you really want to have in a car.

Karl Lagerfeld and Porsche Cayenne

Porsche Cayenne; this is one of the most ugly car which we can see during last one decade. Despite its Porsche badge, it has nothing in common with a proper Porsche, I mean Porsche 911 which is the real Porsche. So this adopted SUV from VW Touareg have never been my favourite car. I know that, Cayenne was disaster for heritage but a great success for financial performance. It turned Porsche into a cash cow. Eventually, the new Cayenne much much much better looking Cayenne is on the way and I may say, it is better than the previous adapted one.

Karl Lagerfeld, he is one of the very well known iconic designers on earth. His style reflect a very unique character and even though I am not a fashion expert but I do know that he is one of the most remarkable designer and will be remembered for generations.

Now there is a two contradicting cases; one of them is Cayenne, even the Porsche will deny it in next twenty years and the other one is designer who will be remembered forever. But there is a intersection! Karl Lagerfeld is using a Porsche Cayenne! Yes, the most remarkable designer is using the most ugly car on earth. Lagerfeld is German and Porsche is German; that’s okay and he might wish to use German cars but why Cayenne?! Even though I am not a fan of Mercedes M Class or BMW X5 but those will be a better option. He might also prefer Mercedes G Class which will fit him much better than Cayenne ;)

Although; he preferred Porsche Cayenne, he knows something else we do ;) This the most fortunate thing ever happened to Porsche Cayenne :)

Porsche: 1 – Toyota: 0

Many people will say Toyota is the most reliable car earth. My uncle’s sister’s daughter’s nephew’s son has a Toyota and it never break down. Yes, that’s true! Your unknown relative’s Toyota may not break down for long year but it does not anything to break down. I have never heard a very innovative technology from Toyota. They are just saying reliability and dull looking. Okay, Lexus introduced some new technologies but they don’t like to take these kinds of risks. However, a very primitive part of the car caused Toyota to collapse. Gas pedal!
J.D. Power announces reliability index every year for automotive brands. Research is conducted in USA but it provides a good perspective understand which is better and which is worse. And interesting there is an unexpected brand in first place; Porsche :) Yes, the sports car manufacturer who is expert in producing 911. Now it is the most reliable manufacturer on the list. Interestingly Porsche’s have many new technology even in facelifts. For instance; face lifted 911 Turbo is offering a new technology which reduces engine movement during cornering. Hydralic system is working like a suspension for engine and it prevent engine to cause under steer or over steer, as it is the heaviest part of the car. Also PDK, double clutch auto transmission, many electronic systems.
Sorry Toyota, you are the best anymore! Even if you did not have the problem with gas pedal, still you don’t take risks like Porsche to offer new technologies. By the way, Mercury and Buick are also more reliable than Toyota.

Back Ends

In magazines, catalogs; actually in every printed material we always see the front ends of the cars. Of course, they will show the front, because the car is moving forward not backward. So the back is not that important! However, some cars does not have that good looking design at their back ends. May be design teams did not pay the same attention to back end ;) However some cars have a very good looking at their back end like their front end ;)

If you never heard of him, please don’t say “I know car business”. Unfortunately, you don’t. It is like, saying who is Bill Gates during an interview in Microsoft! No difference.
Mr.Piëch is grandson of Ferdinan Porsche, so he has the car DNAs in his blood. And his talent to turn VW from peoples’ boring car into automotive giant. Bentley and Bugatti missions were Piëch’s ideas. And if you love Veyron, you should thank him. Also he is very good at business game, his cousin Wolfgang Porsche started to buy VW bit by bit for quite long time and Piëch made the right movement at the right time and Porsche is a brand of VW. Now VW has these; VW, Audi, Porsche, Bugatti, Bentley, Skoda, Seat, MAN and Scania. VW has only have stakes in MAN and Scania. Also he has shaped the design of Porsche Panamera.
So he is the Bill Gates or Alexander the Great of automotive industry :) With this interesting pictures attached to his jacket. I found this on Top Gear Magazine’s December 2009 issue at page 112.
