Audi A8 W12 vs. BMW 760i vs. Mercedes S600

All of the vehicles have one thing in common, twelve cylinders. Actually they have more things in common, but I wanted to highlight the most exciting factor. Unfortunately, I did not have chance to drive these cars. It would have been great if drove them.
But one thing caught my attention. Audi A8 W12 is the newest and least powerful one. Mercedes S Class is oldest, BMW 7 Series older and Audi A8 is the youngest. From this basic ranking, you expect to hear that A8 is the most powerful one, because it is the newest one. This is something, which is expected by everyone. But Audi did not fulfil our expectation and only offered 500 horsepower for the A8 W12 model. For many people it is too much but in terms of marketing, this cars has to have more! I know horsepower race is nearly over but still, it is a good way to increase your sales! But Audi plays for lower CO2 level ;)
Audi A8 W12 offers 500 horsepower, 12,4 lt average consumption and 290gr CO2 level.
BMW 760i offers 544 horsepower, 13 lt average consumption and 303gr CO2 level.
Mercedes S600 offers 517 horsepower, 14,1 lt average consumption and 329gr CO2 level.
What does this mean? Audi A8 W12 is the most environment twelve cylinder vehicle on market.
This basic table shows that newest technology is the cleanest, the most economic and least powerful. Welcome to new world! But I still not confident about the consumers of twelve cylinder cars. Do they really think about consumption while buying a car with twelve cylinders!

Maybach: An Automotive Tragedy

Finally, Maybach’s future is getting clear. Mercedes’s cash burning luxury brand, which was revealed to compete with Bentley and Rolls Royce did not manage to compete as it was expected. When Rolls Royce revealed the Phantom, Maybach could not resist to this pressure and started to lose market share rapidly. Furthermore, recently global economic crisis made things worse. Maybach became the brand, which is funded by Mercedes to keep alive. Usually, a brand generates profit and keep business floating. Unfortunately, Maybach did the opposite.
As usual, rumours started for Maybach; it can be removed, a new model can be produced and designed with Aston Martin. However, these entire alternatives were emerged after the new Maybach products, which also failed (Zepelin, Laundrette). Recently, Mercedes decided on an another option. Turning Maybach brand into stickers! Similar to AMG, customers will have chance to turn a regular S, CL and GL Classes into Maybach class luxury and they will have the Maybach sticker at the back end. Bentley does this with Mullinear and customises to vehicle with customers’ demand and turn it into a more luxury vehicle.
Within current condition, this is the best option for the Maybach brand. It nearly impossible to compete with Rolls Royce and Bentley, and there is no reason to pour money into this business. However, customers can bear an extra cost to have the Maybach class luxury without bearing the Maybach style price tag.

Mercedes S Class S600 P Police Car from Mexico

Mercedes s class is always considered as a car to be driven by state members, rich people, lottery winners and anyone who has lots of money to spend on a car. And thanks to Mercedes, you can have many different engines with bullet proof option. The engine range of S class is more complicated than the handbags those are appeared in London Fashion Week!
Besides this engine confusion, there is one thing more! S600 P, this is produced in Mexico (Mercedes produces S classes in Mexico too) and driven by Mexican police. Sounds really interesting and can motivate some people to work in Mexican police department :) This car is equipped with S65’s twin turbo engine and bulletproof! Sounds confusing, it is like bullet proof AMG. And interestingly Chinese government interested on this bulletproof AMG and received some :)
I am pretty sure that, there are some people are willing to buy a bulletproof AMG! Like people who are willing to buy handbags which are not designed for usability. Bullet proof AMG, will not be something really fast. It would be something looks sporty and keeps you alive.
This vehicle on the picture is non face-lifted S Class, this means it is manufactured before 2010. I couldn’t find face-lifted S Class Guard photos in Mercedes-Benz media library!
