Ferrari SP12 EC by Eric Clapton

Ferrari SP12 EC is recently revealed by Ferrari. This is a new car but not totally new! It is based on a Ferrari 458. Ferrari 458 is also a new car but Eric Clapton decided to have something fresher than 458. Why mentioned Eric Claption, because he wanted to have something totally different. And Clapton went to Ferrari ‘s One-Off Programme to have a car that is really exclusive!

Ferrari One-Off Programme offers the opportunity to customise your car from the scratch. And Eric Clapton wanted to have a Ferrari 458 that looks similar to Ferrari 512 BB. As Clapton is a very loyal customer and ready to pay lots of money, so One-Off Programme designed Ferrari SP12 EC with Centro Stile Ferrari and Pininfarina.

Ferrari SP12 EC has the same technical details of Ferrari 458. 4.5-lt V8 petrol engine produces 570 PS of power and 540 nm of torque. Ferrari SP12 EC accelerates from zero to 100 kph (62 mph) in less than 3.4 seconds with the top speed of 325 kph (202 mph).

If you are planning to buy Ferrari SP12 EC, it is possibly impossible because it is designed under the Ferrari One-Off Programme. So, SP12 EC is really exclusive and Clapton wants to keep it exclusive as well!

What Clapton said about designing a car? Following the project through from what was, essentially, a blank canvas, was ‘one of the most satisfying things I’ve ever done.” Unique and irreproducible like the final car.

Porsche 918 Spyder with Electric Power

Porsche 918 Spyder, this new Porsche will take the space after Carrera GT left the production. Porsche 918 Spyder is a totally new concept, unlike Carrera GT it does not run on only petrol power, Porsche 918 runs with electric power as well. There are two electric engines are placed in 918 Spyder, one in front axle (122 PS) and the other one in rear axle (108 PS) act as a hybrid and runs with petrol engine. Moreover, 4.6-lt V8 petrol engine is also present and produces 570 PS of power. The combination of electric and petrol engines deliver more than 770 PS of power to Porsche 918 with only 3lt/km of consumption level! In addition, batteries can be charged by plug-in but charging times are not announced yet. The top speed is more than 325 kph (200 mph).

Adaptive aerodynamics will be similar to Bugatti Veyron’s adaptive rear spoiler; acting as an air brake and improve handling at high speed.
Porsche 918 Spyder will go into production end of September 2013 and first delivery will be before the end of 2013. Porsche will be using carbon fibre reinforced plastic (CFPR) to manufacture 918 Spyder. This enables to reduce the weight significantly and improve consumption, better handling and also better safety in higher speeds. As a result of this new technologies, Porsche defines the 918 Spyder as minimum consumption and maximum of performance.
According to press release and technical information, Porsche 918 Spyder will create a path in super car segment. Ferrari 458 Left Tyres Mark in Great Wall of China

Ferrari’s 20th year anniversary in China did not go well! Last week, Ferrari rented the historic Great Wall of China for the PR event of Ferrari 458 Italia Chinese Special Edition. Ferrari managed to close down the Great Wall of China during PR event as you will see in the footage. And as I can see, they paid attention to keep historic place without any damage.
Unfortunately, one of the employee of the dealer decided to show off by making donuts with the Ferrari 458 Italia Chinese Special Edition and left tyre marks on a place that is 600 years old! Ferrari announced that, they will do everything to recover this incident and work with the government.
However, there is a big question. A company like Ferrari, how they don’t have any supervisor during the shipment of the Ferrari 458 to Great Wall of China and how the other let him to do these things. He is not making donuts next to his house, this place is 600 years old. And he should have been informed about the importance of the place.
I wish that Ferrari will be informing about the process of restoring those tyres marks from the Great Wall. And improve their human resource protocols!

Mercedes AMG, Ferrari and Audi Celebrated the Facebook Fans

Facebook is the new environment to experience your favourite car brand. From Hyundai to Ferrari, nearly all car companies are available on Facebook. Even if you cannot afford to buy one, there is not restriction to like! Many people benefit from this de-restricted world of Facebook and became a fan of their favourite car brand. And the number of fans on Facebook are the solid proofs; Ferrari has 8 million, Mercedes-Benz AMG has 2 million, Audi US has 5 million. These numbers are more than many countries’ whole population.
As the numbers are so huge, the car companies decided to celebrate this in a usual way! Burning rubber! Ferrari, AMG and Audi celebrated their Facebook success by burning tyres and making smoke. Honestly, all these footages are record very professionally and nice to watch but celebrating an achievement in a new technology by burning rubber does not sound that innovative :)

Backstage of Ferrari F12berlintta’s Footage

If you are wondering how the latest footage of Ferrari F12berlinetta was taken, here is the answer from Ferrari. Hopefully, automotive companies realised importance of backstage footages! This has been done by fashion brands for ages and catches lots of interest.
During the shootings of the F12berlinetta, they have used my favourite SUV Mercedes-Benz ML63AMG as pursuit camera car and also a helicopter and also high-speed cameras and also 35mm movie cameras. This short footage we watched on YouTube was not prepared by a team of amateurs!
And if you are planning to hire this pursuit camera car here is the link! http://pursuitsystems.com/
